Seeing is not always believing… ---------------------------------------------------------------- DIANA\ \IVY/ /HUNTER
----------------------------------------------------------------
Three words that define me: She Who Learns Secret spot: The alcove in the library next to the section on Magical Healing Favorite Charm: Acroasus Favorite Hex: The Conjunctivitus Curse has a certain… irony to it that I admire. Favorite Class: Ancient Runes Weapon of Choice: 8 ¾ inches, dragon heartstring, birch wood Ideal Meal: Chilled sparkling water, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, and sourdough bread dipped in spiced olive oil Favorite Flavor of Ice Cream: Peppermint Deepest Dream: To be able to equal the powers and abilities of witches with sight. Deepest Fear: Losing the ability to maneuver- being unable to get around without aid. Dying Regret: Not beginning my quest for knowledge sooner. Words to live by: There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance. (Socrates) The Best Music In The World: Beethoven- specifically, Pathetique Sonata and the Fifth Symphony How Can You Call This Music: Rap, of any kind. I also dislike American country and obnoxious rock and roll. When I’m Not In Uniform: I am rarely out of uniform, however I am not adverse to pea coats and designer jeans. Are You A Natural Blonde: I do not partake of hair dye. Girly-Girl or Tomboy?: I prefer to think of myself as a third category- the smart girl. Favorite Time of Day: There is a certain… equality… to the pitch-black of night; my vision equals that of others. Would You Wear Fishnets: I shall not deign to answer such an impertinent question. Do You Do Brooms: Brooms and blindness do not mix well. Patronus: A fruit bat Great word: Knowledge
So on the surface you think you see: A witch who cannot; a girl obsessed with her books, one who spends all her spare time on her schoolwork and dislikes social events. But you don’t really know me: My search for knowledge will make me stronger than those who have vision- the more I know, the more I will be able to hold my own when the darkness comes. I am embarrassed about my blindness, and I do not want to be treated differently just because of it. My friends all think I’m: arrogant, anti-social, a stuffy know-it-all who doesn’t know how to turn off, doesn’t know how to unwind, and can’t flirt to save her own skin. But the truth of it is, I’m: desperate to prove that I can be more than my eyes, so I immerse myself in my books. I don’t have time for fun and games. When I can hold my own against those who can see, then there will be time for friends and parties and boys. Not before. And what you should really know is this one thing: Just because I am blind doesn’t mean I don’t see.
Ravenclaws: I respect your intelligence, though I believe you spend rather too much time on the… shall we say, easier routes of magic? Gryffindors: You are the whole lot of you utter fools, and I weep for the future of the magical world should you be allowed to continue. Hufflepuffs: Although you are rather… simple-minded in terms of learning, you do have a certain awareness of others’ feelings that I appreciate. Slytherins: I prefer those of my own House to any outside it; I admire your courage about testing alternative, sometimes distasteful methods.
------------------ Friends ------------------ I will let you into my heart all the way: I can be myself around you: You’re fun, but I’m not sure I trust you yet: Lily Evans, Severus Snape You make me laugh sometimes: Harry Potter, Hannah Abbott I tolerate your presence: Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Black, Sirius Black
------------------ Enemies: ------------------ $@!#$*(%)*!&^ !: Professor Cadmus I will meet you in the dueling rings and kick your--: You irritate me beyond belief: I don’t usually go beyond wishing I could jinx you: Bellatrix Black You are a minor pain:
------------------ Lovers: ------------------ You are allowed to help me navigate: Sure, I’d like to go out with you: Draco Malfoy You have colors: Elijah Jammison Meh, don't think so: Creepy Nameless Stalkers I Don’t Care About:
------------------ Others: ------------------
As of yet, I don’t have any real ideas about using Diana, other than I’d love to see her get into an argument with someone. Any and all ideas welcome!

No lie, I think these two would get along swimmingly. They're very similar, these two. Severus is on a quest to prove he's better than everyone, but in a slightly different way. He craves approval more than she does, and he focuses his expertise in Potions and Offensive/Defensive spells. He also invents them, so it makes me wonder if he had a friend who taught him how...
For one thing, Severus wouldn't care at all that she was blind. At first, he might have thought it was a tactical advantage over her, but after seeing how much of a firecracker she actually was? He would like that she wouldn't judge him by his looks, and he would crave the knowledge she had. Perhaps the biggest boon to their relationship: neither of them is looking for love. Severus is having all his drama with Lily so I don't think he'd even consider her. Don't know what you want to do, but I think they'd be great friends, and maybe they could "get together" sometime in the future...
profsnape&&diana
Depending on what we do with his younger version, I think seeing Diana again might really sadden him... I do sort of envision the both of them encouraging each other to join the DEs, and considering older!Snape knows all the crap that went down after that? Might be interesting, too, if Diana is dead in the future, and he could stop it by convincing her out of the DEs now, but he has firmly decided not to meddle in the past. Angst! xD

Severus & Diana
Oh, yes. Severus and Diana would definitely get along well! They’re both bookish types who don’t like talking to other people much, and they both are separate from others, though for different reasons. Diana craves approval, too, but in a different way- she only wants people to stop treating her differently because of her disability. And I love the idea about the inventing of spells- since she’s huge on magical theory, it would be really cool to have the two of them work on new magic together. I can see her doing a lot of experimenting with spells on her own, trying to fix her eyes- but if we put Severus in the mix, maybe she could start working more with Potions?
Diana’s first instinct about boys is mistrust, and her second instinct is friendship. Drama and love really just don’t occur to her when she meets people, so I can see them ending up as good friends. I can see her as being sympathetic to his Lily problem even though Lily is a Gryffindor, maybe trying to help him by doing nasty things to James, or making friends with Lily.
Snape & Diana
This could actually be really cool. I like the idea of Diana dying because she joined the DEs- maybe she could be experimenting with a new spell to fix her eyes and kill herself on accident, or get killed on a mission for Voldemort, I don’t know. If he does try to talk her out of it, she’d probably get a little mad at him for 1) meddling in her business, Professor or no, and 2) not understanding how badly she wants to get her sight back. Which could be fun to write. Once she gets an idea in her head, she sticks with it, so she might join the DEs, even knowing the risks involved…

Yay! Severus has a good friend! :D Umm, I think it might be interesting if the two of them tried to brew a Potion for her eyes. I kind of see Potions as a subject that he would be a lot better at than her, partially because he can see what color it is and all that. Buuut, she might know more about theory, so working together they could possibly get better results. Also, he actually wanted to use his potions skills for healing to begin with before he branched out into darker potions; so, this would definitely be a project he is interested in.
As far as Severus/Lily angst, I don't really think her and Lily would get along, but it would be awesome if these two teamed up against each other's enemies. Not sure anyone could survive their combined wrath. xD
snape&&diana
His identity is hidden at the moment (he's Professor Abaris), but once everyone knows who everyone is, it might be interesting if she seeks him out, considering they were friends in the past. I don't think he would come to her... he's very "I don't want to change anything", and, even though seeing her might cause him some stress, he would have to be goaded into telling her anything of import.

Severus & Diana
In that case, I think having them work together on healing potions would definitely be a good thing to try! You’re right, he’s undeniably better at Potions than she is- something about accidentally knocking things over often because she can’t see- so it would be a team effort. I don’t want it to actually work, mostly because I like her being all bitter over her eyes, but it would be interesting to see what kind of effects it might have on her- would it change her ability to see light sources and splashes of color, or would it give her extra shapes?
I was thinking she might be nice to Lily just for Severus’s sake, though there might be some resentment over Lily breaking his heart. As for James, well. She thinks most Gryffindors are idiots who charge into tricky places just to prove how “brave” they are, so she would get furious with James really quickly. Half of her being nasty to him would be from loyalty to Severus, and the other half just for herself! (James had better start checking his food before he eats it…) xDD
Snape & Diana
BRAINFLASH!!! So sometimes Diana can see light sources if they’re particularly bright, which isn’t extremely uncommon. What is, and what might be coming from her magic, is how she can sometimes see auras of color around certain people. If she sees one around young Severus and the same color around Snape, she’d constantly be getting them mixed up, and she might start suspecting Abaris of being related somehow to Severus. I’m not saying she’d guess they were the same person or anything, and she certainly wouldn’t guess about the time-travel business, but she could be very suspicious of Abaris. What do you think?

Yeah, I figured you wouldn't want to cure her and their potions might just have some interesting effects. But I also think they may find out that experimenting on people isn't all fun and games. Perhaps one of the potions they make really hurts her? I guarantee you Severus would freak out at such an unexpected outcome, but considering magic can be pretty unpredictable...
snape&&diana
You know what's funny? I've basically been setting up young!Severus as highly suspicious of all the transfer people. I think Diana may be in the best position to notice that the two Snapes are so similar, since she might notice little things about them that other people would overlook. Also, with Severus constantly yammering to her about all the strange things the transfers are up to, she may be keeping a look out more than she normally would. It might be really interesting if she eventually figures it out and confronts him about it...

Lily&&Diana
Well, with every free Snape you get a bag of Lily, too. It's hard not to, since the Lily/Snape angst is so strong. If Diana and Severus got along as well as they will, Lily's jealousy will probably be out of the park. But, you know, Lily keeps appearances and she's kind, regardless. These two could potentially get along, but there will always be that tension -- perhaps if things blew over the top, then something bad would happen. We would have to see!
Lucius&&Diana
Since Luci is my other character, I'm just offering him out here too. Since he doesn't have a distinct presence in this place yet (only being the subject of rumors and hate), you can do anything with him that you would please. If you want to RP with him, then cool! We can think of something to build up between these two.

Harry&&Diana
I see a hate relationship here. Harry is a Gryffindor, and one who hates Death Eaters, and probably her little friend Snape, though he wouldn't be mean to her unless she is mean to him, but he's a Gryffindor and an 'utter fool' to her I would think.

Severus & Diana
Yeah, I really like this idea! I could stick her in Hospital Wing or St. Mungo’s for a little while, bugging all of the Healers. Do you want to start a thread, or should I?
Snape & Diana
In that case, this plot sounds absolutely fantastic! Diana picks up on smaller details, things no one else usually notices. The only thing is, she’d have to meet young!Severus before Prof. Abaris, or she’d be suspecting him instead of Abaris, maybe thinking he’s just imitating Abaris or something.
Lily & Diana
Even though Diana’s interest in Severus is just to milk him for information, that could be really interesting if Lily gets jealous- Diana has a defensive streak a mile high. She’d probably try to mind her manners just for Severus’s sake, though she has an automatic dislike of Gryffindors, but every so often she’d lose her temper. Could be interesting, though!
Lucius & Diana
Well, I don’t know if what goes on in the IC-Cbox is counted here, but based on what happened last night, I’m thinking she pretty much hates his guts, thinks he’s a pedophile, and is ready to jinx him, no matter how many detentions she gets. But it could be very interesting! Diana usually reserves her hatred for Gryffindors, but I think she might make an exception in his case. I’m actually really excited to give her an enemy, so this could be really fun.
Harry & Diana
Now, normally I’d say, yeah, you’re right- but again the thing with the C-Box last night made me think she might make an exception in his case. Diana’s big on people who tell the truth- and when she finds out he was being honest about Tom Riddle, well, that might change her mind about him, as well as his not mocking her and apologizing for the Gryffindors that do. I can’t see them as being the best of friends, and Diana would probably call him an idiot on a regular basis, but at the same time, she’ll try to defend him when he goes charging into stupid situations. So long as neither of them bring up Severus, they might be okay- the Death Eater thing gets a bit complicated. She’s more interested in joining up because she hopes the Dark Lord will know something that will fix her eyes, not out of any particular hatred for Muggles. Could be interesting, is all I’m saying.

Harry&&Diana
Yeah, totally agree. He won't like being called an idiot, but sometimes he realizes it, and normally afterwards he feels like an idiot. What he doesn't know really won't matter with the Severus thing, if he doesn't know, then he's ok, if he does, he'll think she's crazy but eventually get over it. The death eaters thing could get interesting. While they wouldn't be the best of friends, Harry would try to keep her away from that, since he doesn't like to just stand by and let things happen.

Lily&&Diana
For her sake, Lily would keep the best appearance she could. Though, if Diana pushed things about Severus with her -- perhaps talked about him a lot, or something along that line, she'd probably snap and start outwardly showing her jealousy. They could probably be in an on and off friendship, that's unheathy for both of them, since, as I can see, slowly and over time, Diana becoming a sort of figure of hate for Lily (especially if Diana lets Lily know she wants to become a Death Eater. Then Lily could even blame her for turning Severus against her and ruining everything).
Lucius&&Diana
It does, actually. So, these two do have a detention together. Also, as a general request (since it bugs me), is to keep in mind that Cissa's and Lucius' goings on aren't as obvious as people like to think it is (since, for some, reading our thread somehow translates into everyone having an idea that he's been being inappropriate with a student). In fact, no one knows. However, it's easy to admit that he does come off as a creep. What attractive, older professor that's attentive to his female students doesn't? Regardless, the more I think about it, the more I realize that Lucius couldn't exactly hate Diana. She's intelligent, she believes in blood purity, and she doesn't let her weaknesses get the best of her. Although he's punishing her right now, if he were to learn more about Diana, he might even sort of begin to like her (which does not bode well, since Cissy's quick to jealousy). He may be annoyed with children who talk with insolence at him... but, honestly? There's no way he could commit full time to having a burning hate for a girl like Diana. Hell, he'd probably take her under his wing, lead her in the right direction (what he considers to be the right direction, which for the Dark Lord).

Harry & DianaI do kinda like the idea of them being friends despite the whole Slytherin-Gryffindor rivalry business. They’d have to be careful about not talking about certain things, like Severus and the Marauders, but other than that they could be friends. Diana would try to protect him from the other people in her House a little, probably get a little older-sisterly. Calling him an idiot or a fool would only be half-hearted for the most part, a sort of gruff endearment. I’ve got a thread started here if you want to reply! Lily & DianaOoh, yes! Maybe if Diana kept bursting in with questions for Severus about their experiments, it could start to annoy Lily or something? From time to time I can see them teaming up to defend Severus, maybe the occasional truce, but with quite a bit of bickering added in, probably. The Death Eater bit is also a good idea for a major rift between them- Diana would be too proud to admit she’s not interested in joining up just for the sake of hating Muggles. Lucius & DianaWell, I can definitely make sure to tone down the suggestions in my posts, sorry about that! Anyway, Diana’s pretty fixated on the belief that Cadmus/Lucius is a creeper. So the more he likes her, the more she’d get freaked out and hate his guts- especially for the whole detention-for-two-months business. Which would be very entertaining at the least. I do like the idea of him taking her under his wing a little- the more he tried to persuade her that joining the DEs is the right thing, the more she’d start doubting her own reasons for joining, which could put some tension between her and her non-DE-wannabe friends. OtherStarted this thread back when I had no ideas- it’s open to anyone who wants to jump in!

Lily&&Diana
That would be the case if Snape and Lily were still talking to each other. They're both rather wounded after the whole "mudblood" incident, so they don't see each other anymore. That doesn't save them from the occasional run ins in the hall, or from them seeing each other in class, or other public places. If Lily were to see Diana and Sev together - maybe even catch them while they were brewing potions - she'd begin to feel a little envy. If Diana and her began on speaking terms, Lily would be kind, as is to her nature. It's just that as Diana and Severus became closer, Lily would become more and more jealous over it, but keep it locked up inside, as she usually does. However, if Diana kept talking about Severus to her, perhaps even asking questions as to why she can't give Sev another chance or something, she might explode and take out her aggression on Diana. x3
Lucius&&Diana
Don't worry. XD I'm not blaming you, or anyone in particular, I'm just trying to remind people that Lucius isn't that dumb and he wouldn't be leaving obvious clues everywhere. He'd yell at anyone that accused him of sleeping with any female student, because that would ruin his reputation (and reputation is everything to Lucius). Just, in general, nothing has happened between Cadmus and Narcissa as of yet, and there was no way to know even if there has been. Does he make it obvious he's a complete asshole? Yes. Does he put himself out there as doing something unholy with the younger version of his wife? God no. I think everyone should respect that. XD (-gets off soapbox!-) As they are stuck together for detention, he would probably force her to work despite her disability. He has no sexual intentions for her; but, if somehow comes off as creepy to her, then that's okay. He's just not going to exacerbate it, since that's just something he isn't interested in. More or less, he would end up seeing her as something he could mentor toward joining the Dark Lord's ranks.

So, I am definitely going to go post in your thread... Question though, did you want them to become new friends, or have they been friends already? She's one year behind him, but I get the feeling they would have been friends before this all started. It's all good to me, just want to know before I post lol.
