Narcissa had let Lucius carry her into the castle as water had begun to pour from the sky at almost unbelievable amounts. She’d never felt so happy in her entire life as when she did curled up against his chest with his engagement-tie wrapped around her wrist. She was also rather relieved he’d picked her up and carried her because she’d started to sink into the mud with each step.
They’d made it just in time for dinner, with the other soaking wet students. Narcissa had fixed her appearance, though still quite wet, before entering the Great Hall. Her fingers repeatedly had drifted to the tie on her wrist. And then the two had parted ways; she had homework and he had Head Boy duties (she loved how prestigious it sounded, her fiancé having Head Boy duties).
Narcissa had trekked down the stairs to the Slytherin common room, and then to her own room to quickly change into something dry, before settling down to do her homework. It took hours considering every few minutes she paused, smiled fondly at the green-and-silver silk around her wrist. Part of her considered this far more romantic and lovely than a diamond ring, another part of her wanted to slip little remarks to Lucius that she would prefer his family engagement ring.
She adored him. She loved him. L-O-V-E-D him. And he loved her. Part of her wanted to curl up in a chair and just squeal about the whole situation instead of doing homework (which was why it took her so long to finish a single essay on advanced cleaning charms). She watched the door for his return though knew he wouldn’t be back for a little while. Every time he swung open her heart raced and she almost leaped from her seat to great him.
By the time she was finished and packed it up, he still hadn’t returned. Narcissa bit her lip and squirmed, before giving herself over to the idea that had been wiggling around in the back of her head since dinner. She grabbed a scrap of parchment from her bag and her lipstick, quickly scribbling Lucius a note.
Luci ♥, I’ve gone to the prefects’ bathroom for a well needed soak. You’ll be off before I get there, so I request your presence to safeguard me. I’ve also brought my bathing suit in case…well just in case. With all my love, Narcissa V. Black
Narcissa pressed a kiss next to her name, her lipstick on her lips being the same she’d hastily written the note with. She folded the little paper into a bird, something she’d spent years practicing as a child, and handed it off to one of their peers to give to him when he returned. She’d debated venturing above to the boys’ dormitories, but hadn’t wanted to invade his personal space without his permission.
And with that she ran upstairs to collect her things. She grabbed her little tote, filling it with her toiletries, robe, sandals, and a rather racy camisole-and-short set she’d secretly bought the previous summer when her mother hadn’t been looking. She’d mask it with her robe, of course. She pulled a sweater over her shoulders, the air having dropped a few degrees since the sudden storm and nightfall. She’d shoved a blue one piece swimsuit under everything, almost a little embarrassed of herself. She couldn’t not bring it, after having written what she had to Lucius. But the whole thing was starting to seem silly.
Now that they were engaged she should just let him watch her bathe, if he was interested. Or bathe with her. For the first time, Narcissa felt like a prude.
And with that, her cheeks flushing from the ideas that had popped into her head, she made her way up and into the prefects’ bathroom. She turned on the bath taps and undressed quickly, covering herself with the pink knee-length robe. While she waited, for she hoped Lucius would come soon, she brushed her blonde silken locks as she perched on the bathtub’s side.

What now, what now, what now?
Lucius folded up the sleeves to his robe as he entered the Slytherin common room. His duties of the night were done. All in all, it had been an accomplishing day. Now all he needed to do was relax. He thought about going to Cissy, but perhaps she would always be asleep at this hour. Then again, waking her wouldn’t be much of a problem either -- she would most likely find him sneaking into the girls’ dormitory, against school rules, to be thrilling and romantic all at the same time. It wasn’t the first time he’d done it, but perhaps the outcome would be different now that he had promised himself to her. Lucius was thinking about the best way to get up the stairs when he glanced over to see Yaxley walking up to him, holding out a paper bird.
“Did you come to show Daddy something you made?” he said smugly, lips curled up into a smirk. Yaxley rolled his eyes and tossed the bird at him. He caught it without much effort.
“No, it’s from your girlfriend,” Yaxley grinned and tilted his head just slightly, mocking her voice as he purred, “Luci!”
Lucius lifted his foot and pushed Yaxley to the ground as the boy burst out into insane laughter. “It’s rude to read post that doesn’t belong to you.” Lucius grinned at him and lead against the couch, carefully unwrapping the note. He read the contents inside and chuckled softly. Yaxley was still on the ground with a shit-eating grin that Lucius almost wanted to tear off his face.
“Going to have some fun with your girl?” he said, chuckling lewdly. Lucius shrugged a shoulder in a way that knowing boys do.
“Perhaps, perhaps not,” he said simply. “It’s not any of your business, is it?”
Yaxley stood up and brushed off his robe with a little sigh. “The boys are worried about you, Lucius. You’re gettin’ soft.” He laughed again. “You gotta tell us when you get the little Black girl in the sack, you know?”
Lucius merely rolled his eyes. Oddly, he wasn’t angry at the comment as much as any girl would be. That was what men did, share stories like that. Though, Lucius respected Narcissa’s privacy. He wouldn’t be sharing any stories like that until it was proper to do so. Besides, if they *did* do something like that, and she had found out he told his friends, she’d probably withhold it from him even more.
Lucius most certainly didn’t want that.
He adjusted his robes and folded the letter into his pocket. He was heading for the door, and as he left he could hear Yaxley wolf calling. It was obnoxious, but it made Lucius laugh some. After he had gotten far enough away from the Common Room entrance, he was greeted by lonely silence. He didn’t necessarily like that, and resolved to get to the prefect’s bathroom as fast as he possibly could. He knew the best way there, too. He had arrived in no time after that, and before he entered, he glanced both ways down the hall to make sure that he hadn’t been seen. When he was assured, he carefully cracked open the door and glanced inside.
There was a beautiful sight.
She was perched on the side of the prefect’s bath, carefully combing through her hair with her hand as the moonlight flooded the windows and onto her. What skin showed was a gorgeous thing to see, pale and smooth and flawless, like a statue. She was a statue, her beauty meant to be immortalized forever for all to gaze on with awe and jealousy.
Lucius made sure to enter silently so that she couldn’t hear. He perched himself against the door, twirling his wand between his fingers as he allowed himself to gaze upon her for a few more minutes. When he was sated, he grinned wryly and let out a sharp whistle, the kind that passing men made to attractive women. It was a joke and a compliment. He had a feeling she would appreciate her dark humor, or hide her face in humiliation and blush in the cutest way possible as she would tell him to stop being such a dog.

Narcissa hadn’t noticed when Lucius had entered. She had been rather enraptured in a day dream (in which he played the main role), picturing her and Lucius dancing together, eating together, and cuddling up together. Cuddling up was already her admittedly favorite thing. He’d managed to make his way up the stairs of the girls’ dormitories before, but she’d never let him stay the night because it wouldn’t be proper. As for as her mother was concerned, letting him perch on her bed as she kissed him goodnight was letting him take advantage of her. That was the worst part of being in school; her bedroom was shared with several other girls who apparently couldn’t keep their lips sealed. And as ‘Cissa had thought about earlier, it felt… wrong to go up to his rooms without his explicit request.
But the moment the first note of his wolf whistle passed his lips, Narcissa’s head turned and jerked up. “Oh!” She cried, scrambling to her feet to greet him as best she could. Her bathrobe slid slightly from her shoulder, revealing a few more inches of pale, porcelain skin. Her smile was almost more distracting than that.
The blonde female moved across the room quickly, her fingers reaching up and tugging slightly on the opening in his robe. The tile had grown slick from the splash of the water faucets. She kissed his chin. “I missed you.” Her voice was small and soft, but echoed in the empty, tiled room. She repeated the kiss, sighing happily.
“But do you see what I was concerned about? Anyone could have walked right in on me! Anyone could have waltzed right in and…” She looked up, her blue eyes meeting his grey ones. Men, she believed, didn’t understand how someone walking in on a woman bathing or doing other private things was horrifying. She needed to find something to get him to understand (though him being there was showing he understood it enough, didn’t it?) “And it could be some boy who will see me in the nude and of course he’ll attempt to hold it over you that he has me in a sense you have not. I just want to protect your ego. You know how immature all the other boys are in this school.”
She bit her lip, her fingers unfurling from where they held his robes. Her palms pressed flat against his chest, pushing slightly at the heavy material. “I’m so glad you’re here to protect me, my love.” She whispered, standing on her tip toes to press a third kiss to his ear.
And then she backed up slightly, darting to the massive bathtub and dipping a toe into the water. Finding the water hot enough for her, she turned off the last of the taps. Her head turned to meet Lucius’ eyes.
“I know I said I wanted to swim to cool off, but the whole storm has made me rather cold.” Narcissa breathed, shivering for effect. “I brought a bathing suit, if you did want to swim with me. Or maybe you could swim first or second…or…” She shifted, playing with the tie around her bathrobe.
Narcissa looked up, her cheeks starting to flush. She was unable to suggest the idea of him bathing with her, though her devious mind had suggested it would be the most sensible thing. And it would be a way of thanking him for…well she didn’t exactly know. Loving her? Proposing?
She cleared her throat. “How were your rounds?”
