And despite standing quite small in height (even with extra height from shoes), he holds himself taller than most. [/b] and the punk scene. Not only listening to it but also creating it with his muggle friends during the holidays – his band. His favourite item is his beloved guitar and his favourite activity when he’s forced to be quiet is to write lyrics. No one else really understands the music, however, so it’s rare for him to bother with such things in public. He also has a deep love for his native home of Australia (especially being able to spend Christmas on the beach) and anything with heat. Like hot chocolate with cream and mini marshmallows. Wizarding hot chocolate is the best, and he sends it home to his family when he can.

One thing that he does both showing is his love of learning and the way that he can never stop asking questions to get more detail out of each topic covered in class. The magical world is not the one he is used to, and as he has only spent six years in it (not even that, as he still has friends on the outside), he still finds every little thing fascination. His favourite subject is charms simply because of the variety, closely followed by transfiguration and care of magical creatures. In fact, the creatures of the magical world are perhaps his favourite part other than diagon alley (which was his first sign of magic) – especially dragons[/s]. They remind him of sharks in a way – his favourite non-magical creatures. And finally, he likes little kids and looking out for those younger than him. Despite his bad boy look he’s a nice soul, and the younger people remind him of his younger twin siblings (who he misses as much as he misses his older brother). [/ul]

[/b] in one thing; being used to warmer weather does not bode well for him during winter, especially in a country where it actually snows. Snowball fights are pure evil in his eyes, and he’d prefer to hold himself up in the library during all three of the winter months if he could get away with it. He also dislikes the pureblood supremists and their views – they might think they are better, but they have never really heard his music now, have they? Out of his subjects, divination irritates him, as well as astronomy. The latter because he is not a boy who is nocturnal and he likes to sleep at night rather than try to make sense out of stars.

Wizarding robes are another of his pet peeves, but he can’t deny that they are very warm, and like perhaps everyone else, threats to his own safe being are also not welcome in the slightest. He also dislikes being ill. And despite what people think when they see his bad boy looks, Waggy has no tolerance for bullies or anything that they do. And while he may appear to be a rule breaker, people who break rules for the hell of it, in terms of pratical jokes and such, also get rather boring, dull, monotonous and tedious after a while. He prefers sarcasm to such things. [/ul]

[/b]. He has a quick tongue and a sharp wit and uses it to the best of his advantage. Another strength which isn’t as easy to apply to social culture is the fact that he is musically talented – he has a good voice and quite a good skill with the guitar. He’s also imaginative, able to come up with ideas quickly and he’s usually the one to ask questions in class that will actually further the depth of what he’s studying. Being able to see through bull is another talent of his given by his rather high IQ.[/ul]

weaknesses,

[/b]. No matter how well he does with picking up spells, he doesn’t understand this world as anything other than a fairytale, and bigger matters (such as war) are little more than stories. He doesn’t understand, or ever wish to understand, pureblood culture and is rather ignorant of how rude that could be considered. Not that he isn’t usually rude – he is. Another weakness; the fact that he is blunt when speaking and extremely straightforward with no understanding of the term ‘subtle’. If people need to know something, he won’t sugar coat it. People ask him for his opinion if they want honesty and nothing more. But then there is also his accent. He has made a conscious effort to hide the strong Australian twang to his words and now sounds like he doesn't have much of an accent at all, but when his emotions rise and he gets irritated, it all floods back out and can make it hard for others to understand him (despite hiding it, however, he's never quite managed to refrain from using some of the slang over there - but as he uses muggle slang anyway, it doesn't make much of a different impression). [/ul]

[/i] kid will. He doesn’t care about wizarding beliefs because people who have them don’t give a damn about his own, and the news in the magical world is, he believes, no concern to him. He’s magically naive despite all his skill in class.

He is also incredibly blunt and some would consider quite rude. The thing is, is that he doesn’t tend to lie. He tells things as they are unless he’s sugar coating words to put into music (which is where his true passion lies) and lyric writing; and in that example he will only sugar coat them so much. He’s truthful and if you ask him something he will give you an honest answer. Even if the question is ‘does my bum look big in this’. He also has a rather dry sense of humour and finds entertainment in the plight of others who try to make him feel like nothing (which is the only entertainment that ‘jokers’ such as the marauders can bring to him, for otherwise he thinks them to be quite the fools).

Yet there is a softer side to him which a few people get to see. Where he’s actually quite serious and calm and level headed, especially when it’s dealing with worries younger children have brought to him. Or bullies. While not one for hexing a guy in the back, he will tap them on the shoulder to make them turn and then punch them in the face if he can. His blunt words can also be just the thing someone wants to hear after talking about something. If you have a problem and bring it to him, he won’t pretend that he knows what you’re going through. He’ll help you get passed it like other people helped him. But that’s not common knowledge. People would think he was a right little saint if it was. [/ul]

AUSTRALIA AND THE EARLY YEARS

He grew up in the sun and gained a perpetual tan from his years there, but when he was nine his parents finally decided to file for a divorce rather than put their children through anymore of the bickering both Waggy and Richard hated but had somewhat grown used to. Being closer to his father than his mother, and with both parents fighting for custody over the children, Waggy was the one who left with him to move to England and a new, much better job in an upstanding medical research facility. With the conditions that he was to return each summer, Christmas, and easter as a minimum. Despite how people might think, there wasn’t much stress of Waggy’s part. He was always an easy going child after all. He did miss his friends like any child would, but has continued to keep in touch with them. His best friend: Danny; lives over in Australia and they play music together even today.[/ul]
ENGLAND

[/i]. Too cold. He and his father had moved to London, in the winter, and while it was boiling down in Australia it was absolutely freezing in the northern hemisphere. Not very happy with how the situation had ended up after all, Waggy’s easy going nature was changed for about three hours when he locked himself in his new room. That was easily changed, however, due to his rather sudden introduction to fish and chips and the marvellous hot chocolate. It may sound simple, but he was that. A simple kid. School was not so bad, despite the teasing he received for his accent, and despite the first impression, he grew to love London. Especially the variety of music there compared to back home. Yet three times a year he would return to spend at least two weeks with his mother and older brother, and later his new step father and finally his two younger siblings. It wasn’t exactly the easiest of lives, and led him to be the sort of kid who rebels through tiny ways rather than the bigger picture, but it was normal and muggle and the little scraps of magic that did show through still could be ignored. Until the owl flew in the window and dropped a letter on his father’s girlfriend’s head one morning, that was.[/ul]
THE MAGICAL WORLD

HOGWARTS

[/i] and muggle made him a prime target for pure blood supremists. His hatred of bullies stemmed from the teasing he would endure or the shove in the corridors that would send him flying. That lasted until the summer after third year, when he finally told his brother about the cruel people at school. Richard told him, quite simply, not to be a wuss and be proud of what he was and what he loved... and then took him shopping for new clothes and a haircut. He returned for fourth year different. More muggle. Punk. But different in personality as well. Now he really didn’t show any sign of caring or being bothered, and gave as good as he got through his words (if not his actions).

What he utterly hated about Hogwarts though, was the lack of music. In fact, if one thing hasn’t changed about Waggy (because his clothes, hair, piercings and even his accent have all varied over the years) is the way that utterly loathes the type of warbling that people call music. For his final year though, he decided to change again. Dying his hair and getting a new tongue piercing was only the first step. He stepped onto the train in a ripped-sleeved mesh shirt and with his guitar strapped to his back. And then he only smirked at the different looks he got in return. [/ul]
