It was early in the morning, before most of the students were awake. The dew on the grass was cool, clinging in sparkling droplets in the sunlight. One bleary eyed teenager trekked across the damp grass, arms full, into the greenhouse. Coughing a bit he looked around the various plants, swaying and snapping, and set his things down on a table. The cup of coffee momentarily dangerously balanced on the edge of the table, nearly tipping as the teen organized his things. With a small hiss he grabbed the hot cup and shifted it further on the table. Wiping his hands on his pants he ruffled his hair and touched the smooth wood of his violin. A small meow echoed in the room, Miesha jumping atop the table and sniffing the coffee. "Hey now, you'll be bouncing off the walls." He spoke quietly as he scratched the top of her head. Looking up at him she mewed and bounded off the table to explore the plants surrounding them. Nathaniel sipped his coffee, choking slightly as he scalded his tongue and set the mug down. Shaking his head he rubbed his eyes and took a few moments to explore his precious instrument.
Quietly he picked up the delicate object, balancing it in his arms as he slid himself onto the table as a perch. His fingers ran down the smooth polished wood as he inspected the strings and tightened them appropriately. Miesha mewed loudly and attempted to jump up and squirm on his lap, Nathan ushered her away quickly as she was quite the distraction. Sun glinting through the windows the flowers and plants swayed and shuddered gently, all stretching toward the light. Biting his lip Nathan found his mind beginning to cloud over. It was October, the leaves were turning different colors and the air was cooling down in the evenings. Halloween would be soon, and after that would be Christmas. Frowning to himself he knew he'd spend another holiday in the castle, he wouldn't want to go home having no one to go home too. A sharp pang hurt deep in his chest, and he buried those thoughts away quickly.
Picking up his bow he perched them on the strings and slid them across the instrument, a sweet sound ringing out into the otherwise empty greenhouse. Closing his eyes quietly he allowed himself to be enveloped in the sounds and the rhythm. Quickly his bow slid across the strings releasing a gentle upbeat tune that lifted his spirits and hypnotized him. He swayed gently with the music from his perch and even the plants seemed to be swaying in tune. Miesha's ears perked as she jumped on the table, at once her face was in the mug lapping at the cooling drink before she curled up next to her beloved master and calmed listening to the music. Smiling to himself Nathaniel loved days like this, where he woke up early of his own volition and took advantage of the cool early mornings.

Emmelia Jenelle Jammison was up early, for once. She attempted to fall back asleep for a couple more minutes, but it never came to her. With an exasperated sigh she drug herself out of her bed. She slipped on a pair of faded jeans, a black laced tank top, and her tennis shoes. She took her wand off of her nightstand and allowed her hair to lay in loose curls over her shoulders. With that she began to wander out of the dungeons and onto the lawns of Hogwarts.
With that she wandered aimlessly. No one in their right mind would be out this early, the sun was barely creeping over the trees of the forest. The dew on the grass glimmered as the sun made it's way into the sky. She smiled and took it all in for a second, which was when she picked up a sound that nature didn't produce. It wasn't a bird, or the crickets. Instead it was a violin and her curiosity piked at that instant.
Emmelia made her way over to the greenhouses where the sound picked up. Quietly she opened the door and watched a young man pour his soul into the instrument. She was instantly mesmerized and closed her eyes to fully enjoy the sound that the violin made. Emmelia had a deep appreciation for anyone who could play a musical instrument. It was something she always wished that she was capable of picking up on.
Once the music stopped Emmelia walked over to the man, and sat down on one of the bench tops a few feet away. A smile was on her face as she complimented, "That was beautiful. Truly amazing, actually." She tucked a stray hair behind her ear before adding, "I'm Emmelia Jammison, by the way." She extended her hand out as a welcoming invitation. She wanted to know more about the person in front of her.

The notes drifted off quietly before he even noticed the girl enter. Miesha, on the other hand, saw the girl and perked her ears. She jumped to the bench and crouched down, sniffing at her cautiously. Reaching out a paw she touched the girls leg, ears flat against her head as she tested the stranger. Tilting her head she mewed, which alerted Nathan to the other person's presence before she spoke. Opening his eyes he regarded the girl, eyes flittering over her as he felt a small sense of unease knowing she was a Slytherin. Was she taunting him somehow? Or did she not know what house he was in? Avoiding violence and fighting was always his first option, so he decided to act normal as though the thought hadn't occurred to him.
A slight flush tinted his pale cheeks. "Thank you, I wasn't aware anyone would be up this early in the morning." He gave her a shy smile, not used to talking with strangers, nonetheless women he hadn't conversed with often in the school in different houses. Glancing at her hand his mouth went dry as he reached forward and lightly grasped her hand in his own cold one. "I'm Nathaniel Venusia, you can call me Nathan." He stuttered a bit nervously, a small smile crossing his lips.
He didn't know many people were interested in his music, he did like to use it as a means to meet knew people but usually on grounds he knew, getting more acquainted with his housemates and maybe others in his class but never strangers that just so happened to be out while he was. "So uh, you liked my music?" He glanced her over once again. "It isn't much, I usually play the traditional music I was taught in Ireland by my mentor, he claimed I was quiet th e protege." He laughed quietly and ran his thumb over his instrument.
