Harry was asleep in his bed, when the most weird dream came to him. He was at the Grimauld Place, looking at pictures of Sirius, when suddenly Tonks came crashing through the door like her old self. Not weird, yet, right? But then Harry walked up the stairs to go to bed, and found himself in the Entrance Hall of Hogwarts. The statues from the walls suddenly came to life and circled around Harry, before Voldemort blasted through, raising his wand and letting a flash of green hit Harry.
That was when he woke up with a start. He looked out his window in the common room, and saw it was nearly morning. He didn't have a class for a few hours at least, since his free period was in the morning. Harry pressed his head against the pillow and tried to fall back asleep but couldn't.
Now it was around breakfast time, most of the students had just finished minutes ago, and since Harry wasn't really hungry he headed out to the grounds. It just wasn't the same without Hagrid, the large half-giant he had grown to love. Of course Hagrid was here, but he didn't know Harry, and if Harry visited it might change something he wouldn't want changed int he future.
Harry decided to walk around the greenhouses. There was time before the second years came to Herbology class, and Harry was in Greenhouse 2, which wasn't used until later. Harry walked around and stopped in front of a normal plant, not a deadly one, but it was beautiful.
It looked almost like a red rose, but it's petals and stem were swaying as if in wind, though there was no breeze. Harry's finger stroked the petal which was as soft as a pillow, or what Harry thought a cloud would feel like. The flower didn't react in a bad way, or in anyway at all. It just swayed in the fake breeze that he thought was there.

Meleny was sitting at the Gryffindor table finishing up her breakfast. She was thinking about how suddenly her life had changed. A few hours ago she had been in her own time mourning her dead mother and trying to protect her abused house elf. When she returned to Hogwarts she had been transported to the 1970s where her parents were teenagers. She remembered her mother telling her stories about her days at Hogwarts.
When she finally saw someone reading a daily prophet she took note of the fact that the year was 1977. If she remembered correctly her parents were seventh years which meant by this point they had to be dating. She remembered her mother telling her she took notice of her father's charm when they were sixth years. Her older sister Valerie whom she remembered her mother saying had graduated by the time she was a seventh year had always warned her about the Slytherin folk.
She paused her thoughts and finished chewing on a piece of toast and grabbed her school bag. She decided to go for a walk outside before she ran into either of her parents. It would be really weird seeing them as teenagers. She and Jezebel both look like their mother in some way but Jezebel ended up getting her father's cunning and cruel personality. As she thought about Jezebel she wondered if she had ended up in this era of Hogwarts. They both had their father's last name so she wondered if they would have to change their last names when they met him. Her mother's name was Kensington back then. Her thoughts eventually carried her to the greenhouses where she noticed one of her fellow Gryffindors. She smiled a bit to herself, glad to see a familiar face after seeing many students in the great hall and in the dormitory she didn't recognize. It frightened her a little to be in a strange time period and not know anybody.

Harry heard footsteps coming closer to him. He whipped his head around to see a familiar face, Meleny if he remembered correctly. He calmed himself from the moment of excitement and fear, thinking it was someone he knew that was older in his time. It was nice to see that he was the only Gyrffindor, excluding the girl, Harper, he had met earlier. So far everyone he met from his time was freaked out about this time switch, but who wouldn't? Go back to the time that your parents were dating, or beginning to date, and hope you don't screw anything up.
Harry turned back around upon noticing it was Meleny and continued watching the plant, hoping that staring at something might help him think. He sighed and spoke still staring at the flower.
"Do you have any idea why we are here?" Harry asked. He was happy to see Sirius and his parents again, but upset that if he interfered Lily might never marry James and Harry would never be born. What frightened him even more is falling in love with someone of this era, and then when they left, the person he fell in love with, might have moved on, and they would be a grown up and not the same person as before. But at the same time, it was sad looking at Sirius and his parents knowing what their fate was. Harry hoped to find a way to fix that, without changing the future too much, or just changing his life. Thing was he was such an important person in his time that if anything changed, his parents lived, then it might be different. Maybe his parents could flee and leave a couple to protect Harry, but that would be cruel to the couple, but then at the same time his parents would live, Harry would still grow up like he did, and Voldemort would be vanquished the way he did. That was a stupid idea though, but he hadn't had too much time to think, so all his ideas seemed idiotic or drastically changing everyone's life.

Meleny smiled, her similar relief at seeing a familiar face radiating from it. She turned her head to the plant he was looking at, fascinated by it too. Meleny being the compassionate person she was loved other living things and believed they should be treated with respect and not harmed. "I haven't a clue. I just woke up in the girls dormitory and found all these people in my dorm I didn't recognize. I-I'm kind of scared. My mother is alive and well in this era but in ours she's dead. I just don't know what I'd do with myself if I met her and dad. She's told me lots of stories about their Hogwarts days and I believe this is around the time they're dating."she stated.
Meleny was really scared she'd mess things up. Of course she hadn't yet talked to anyone from this time period so it was a relief to see Harry's face. She wouldn't know what to say or do. Would she care of Christina Kensington didn't end up marrying Emery Aldridge because of something she or Jezebel did unknowingly'? She knew what Emery ended up becoming in the future and it pained her that her mother in the future never lived to see forty or lived to see the defeat of the future Voldemort. If Christina didn't marry Emery, of course neither she or Jezebel would exist but she always wondered what it would be like if her demon sister didn't exist and it was only her.

Harry turned around slightly and smiled towards Meleny, hoping to be reassuring. Truthfully he was afraid someone might do something to where he was never born. But then again here he was, and if it was his fault then he never would have existed to cause them to not get together, therefore, he would either not cause them to break up, or never get together, or he would still be alive and they are currently in a completely different universe, parallel to his, well theirs given Meleny was from his time.
"Well, if you see your father, then just claim you are a distant cousin, at least that's what I am doing. And well if your mother isn't alive in our time, maybe you could befriend her now, and get to know her better," Harry replied confidently, though on the inside he wasn't. Really anything they did would affect their timeline, and some things looked scary. He didn't want to see his mother with anyone but his father, scared that something might happen and he would never be born.
Harry was a good actor when it came to bravery. He acted like he wasn't afraid, when on the inside he was screaming with terror at times, such as the time with Voldemort in the graveyard.

Meleny thought over his suggestion. It sounded like good advice but she was still nervous. "I guess that would work. But My sister and I both have is name. We don't have to use an alias if we're claiming we're his distant cousins? It sounds like a good idea to make friends with her while she's alive in this time period. It's just I'm worried about meeting him for the first time. In our time period, my father was a destructive person who served Voldemort and now that he's seventeen in this time period. I'm nervous because he's a Slytherin. He already thought of me as scum in the future. I'll probably be scum to him in the past even if he doesn't know I'm his daughter from the future. He always liked Jezebel better because she showed great promise of becoming a death eater."she said then blushed embarrassed at how much she rambled.
She wondered if she even made any sense. She knew Jezebel probably didn't even care if she was reckless in this time period and somehow seriously altered the future. She had wanted Meleny gone since she could walk and talk. Still she couldn't help but wonder how she was reacting to waking up in the time period of their parents final year at Hogwarts.

It made some sense to him. If the Dursley's were magical (Harry was SURE they weren't) it would be a little like the same, except both would favor Dudley over him. Harry didn't really know exactly what she was feeling, since both of his parents were dead already, therefore he didn't know what was important and what wasn't. For example, what pushed them together was some thing another could prevent. Harry would have to watch the Death Eaters and wannabe Death Eaters, since if they pushed Lily and James apart, then Harry would never be born, and Voldemort wouldn't disappear for 14 years.
With that it also meant if someone found out they were from the future and his story, they might try to push them apart as well, or kill them, or Harry. That wasn't the greatest prospect.
"Then you don't have to meet him. And if you want someone there when you meet him, then just come talk with me, I can always help out," Harry replied smiling, still afraid of what might happen. All the people from this year would not feel this kind of terror, but of course he couped with it, but it seemed Meleny wasn't doing as good.

Meleny smiled at his kind offer. She had yet to meet her father but all these possible scenarios were swimming through her head. From previous conversations with her future mother she remembered she said that by seventh year her father was a Death Eater but he wasn't as destructive in personality as he was in the future. He had claimed he could protect Christina from anyone who meant to harm her if she allowed him to persue his dream. "I'm kind of curious as to what my parents are like as teenagers even though my future mother told me a few stories before she died. I think I do want to meet him, even if he is a Slytherin who cares about blood purity. I mean it's probably a disaster waiting to happen. Thanks for offering to come with me when I meet him."she replied.
Meleny glanced back over at the plant Harry had been watching still very much in some deep thought. She still hadn't a clue how to act around the students of this time period. She knew they couldn't reveal anything about the future because they could change it drastically. It hurt her to not have a chance to come to terms with her mother's unexpected death in the future and she was even more upset she couldn't warn her about her boyfriend. Again, all those could change the future somehow.
Now that she thought of it Meleny was glad they were on this trip to the past so she could get to know her mother. No doubt she got her kind nature from her and Jezebel got her cruel tendencies from their father. In a way she figured meeting her mother in the past would be cathartic, albeit a little shocking, even if she couldn't say anything about the future. It was as close to closure as she was going to get since in the future she hadn't had a chance to say goodbye or attend the funeral since she had to return to Hogwarts for her sixth year and then was promptly whisked to the past soon after. With these thoughts swimming in her head, a small tear stung Meleny's eyes. She quickly turned away from Harry a bit to let it fall to the ground. Meleny wasn't emotional often unless something huge was weighing on her mind and heart. "I-I'm sorry. You probably think I'm crazy, randomly bursting into tears like this. I'm sorry if this is startling for you to watch."she stated. She missed her mother so much and she knew she had to play her cards right in the past. In her opinion, her mother shouldn't have died so young but there was probably nothing she could do about it.
