Lily was insane, truly. She was.
Moments after Sirius had abandoned the common room, the realization dawned upon her that she didn’t necessarily like Sirius. She was supposed to hate all of the Marauders, wasn’t she? Sirius most of all, since he encouraged James to act like a toerag. But, honestly, when Sirius got down and was honest, she realized that he was a lot nicer than she had given him credit of being. She had no idea that Sirius could be so… well… serious about things like love, or emotion, since he always came off as the bachelor that wanted to have it all. Both of the boys did, which was why she probably disliked James so much. What if James was just like Sirius when they were alone? Was it possible that he was just as kind? Was it possible for her to perhaps get along with him?
She didn’t really know what to think. She wasn’t good with love emotions. She had plenty of her own problems when it came to that department, which made her wonder why she was willing to give advice to Sirius that she probably wouldn’t even follow on her own. She was such a hypocrite sometimes, wasn’t she?
Lily hadn’t told him when to meet her, or even where. It was more of a passing mention. “Can I talk to you later?” then “Oh sure, anytime.” She was usually more organized than that. The idea that she didn’t even at least attempt to schedule an appointment with him bugged her. Then it bugged her even more that she would even have to think that way about people she was being social with. Had work really reduced her to this kind of person? To make up for it, she tried the cutest thing possible. She left a small note at his bedside -- “Meet me on the grounds, at 2:00pm,” signed with “Lily Evans” at the bottom, as if she had been planning a get together with a girlfriend. It was so cutesie that she began to regret it, as she thought about it more and more. She really wasn’t well put together at the moment, was she?
Lily arrived at the grounds promptly at 1:55pm, being as punctual as she usually was. She sat herself near a tree, abandoning her messenger bag next to her. As the minutes passed, she looked at her watch. The more she waited, the more her stomach churned in nervousness. This was a mistake, wasn’t it? She didn’t know anything about love or relationships. She could barely even think about the emotion without a flurry of confusing thoughts flooding her mind. In what way could she give proper advice to Sirius? He had probably been to bed with more females than she could even count. There was no way she was prepared for this. She could akin the feeling to having not studied for a test, and her anxiety was out of the park.
Lily’s hands came together and she squeezed, her eyes darting about nervously as she tried to manage her heartbeat.

Sirius was sick, love sick that is. Never had he felt this way about anyone. The feeling was all too new to him, how was he to respond to the emotions flowing through his body and mind? It was not the idea for Sirius to ever fall for anyone. Everyone portrayed him as the man-whore who would get whatever he wanted from women. It was finally the time to prove everyone else that he was not who everyone claimed he was. Sirius sighed as he walked back into his dormitory, revealing a small note on the desk.
Meet me on the grounds at 2:00, Lily Evans Sirius looked at his watch with despair, he had three minutes to get there. Lily was not the girl you would want to keep waiting. Padfoot quickly removed his dress shoes, and threw off his shorts throwing them upon his bed. He would clean up his room later, cleaning was the least of his priorities right now. Sirius frantically looked about the room for his jeans and converse shoes. Oh bloody hell, where the are the damn jeans i am looking for?!
Sirius looked under his bed for the shoes, one item down, jeans to go. He looked at his watch again. Damn! Two minutes left. The dresser was torn apart in a matter of moments. The jeans fell from the top drawer, he quickly put them on and zipped up his jeans. Then Sirius tied his shoes before running down the stairs leading into the common room. He looked at his watch for the final time. One minute to get there or there will be one mad Lily Evans.
The eldest Black boy ripped his wand from his pocket and then Crack! apparated to the grounds, standing mere feet from Lily. He brushed himself off before taking the few steps towards Lily. Sorry for keeping you waiting.
[/color] The bell rang 2:00 right after Sirius spoke those words. He was glad that he had made it on time, leaving women waiting was never a good thing to do, even Sirius knew that. You are probably wondering why I asked to speak with you. Because, it's rare that we ever speak, let alone...privately.[/color] [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

The moment that Lily had managed to calm herself some, he popped out of thin air, standing before her, befuddled, apologetic and messy. It almost gave her a heart attack, really; but, Lily had been generally jumpy as of late. [red]“Sirius![/red] she exclaimed, letting out a squeak as she held her chest. [red]“You frightened me!”[/red] Her eyes clenched shut, and she could only imagine him to be smirking at her then. She remembered many times in the past that startling the Evans girl had become one of James’ favorite pastimes. She couldn’t count how many instances where James (sometimes with Sirius’ help) had snuck up on her in the hallways, just to make her jump. He knew Sirius didn’t intend to do so now; but, she was startled all the same, and took a few moments to catch her breath.
He was sorry he kept her waiting, was he? Was he trying to be funny? The bell immediately sounded to the very moment of his arrival, and she would have missed the sound if hadn’t still been chiming when he had popped so suddenly into existence. Regardless, she said nothing of it, and patted the seat beside her, trying to seem more hospitable and kind toward him, more than she normally would be. She supposed if he had needed help, and he wanted to reach out to her, she would not refuse him. How could she? She was a sucker to people and their problems, it was one of her downfalls… It led her in so many awful places…
[red]“The thought crossed my mind,”[/red] she admitted, watching him. It was strange how he had come to her all of a sudden; but, she had attributed that to the fact that she was there, right at the moment when he needed to speak to someone. James wasn’t around, so he couldn’t take solace in him… then again, was the reason why he was coming to her because she was the only one that could give him “proper” advice? She wished as much. Lily had too much self importance sometimes, really. Lily pulled some of her hair over one shoulder, letting her fingers comb through it as she gazed at him idly. [red]“I mean… I didn’t even think we were on good terms, to be perfectly honest.”[/red]
Lily grimaced after that. Perhaps she shouldn’t have said such a thing; but, she had always been a stickler for honesty. From what she knew of Sirius, he could take it. He’d heard worse in his time, especially from his family. It made her admire him some, giving her an idea of kinship between the two. While she could never understand his situation fully, she could understand the pain that came with it.
[red]“I saw that girl you liked,”[/red] she commented, her green eyes piercing into his. [red]“She’s very pretty… seemed very nice too.”[/red]

Sorry for the scare, Evans he said calmly and smirked slightly at her. Sirius brushed himself off with his right hand, removing stray hairs and scattered pieces of paper from his shirt. There had been plenty of times where Sirius and James would just appear at random times just to make Lily Evans’ blood boil. The expression on her face was the main thrill of scaring her; today was not one of the regular days. Various things had been crossing his mind more so than usual. His grey eyes looked up at the sky then back down towards Lily.
It was certainly and interesting sight, seeing Sirius Black and Lily Evans having a private talk. She had been trying to catch her breath, while she was doing so Sirius calmly placed a hand on her shoulder. You alright, Lily? he asked questionably with a worried look across his face. He truly did not intend to scare her, he was merely running behind and had to make his deadline. Sirius was beginning to understand Lily and her personality, down to the point of making her wait was a terrible idea. Why would he want to keep her waiting? He knew that this might be his only chance to ever speak to her on a private and serious note. A few moments passed and he gathered his thoughts, noticing that she was patting the seat next to her on a bench. He was never going to believe that Lily actually cared for him, but her actions was telling him otherwise.
Thanks for meeting me here, Lily. It truly means a lot to me he said as he sat down next to her, crossing his arms over his chest. The moment she had mentioned that she was unsure about their terms, he sighed and shook his head. Sirius knew that Lily and he were not on the best of terms, but in time was hoping to change that. Her words were honest and true, but he tried not to think about them too much and keep his mind on the main reason for having his meeting in the first place. Then Lily had spoken again, his ears perked up at the sound of her mentioned Emmelia.
She has a troubled family life, like me. I can relate to her, more than I thought I would be able to. he paused, looking into Lily’s eyes speaking the truth before he had spoken again I think I love her.
