((Here's the thread. Reply whenever you want, since we already do a lot of stuff together. I'm just giving you another option if you ever feel the need to push this plot forward. <3 Chalkie))
Finally, the day had come. Like beautiful rapture, the excitement swept her so far away that the whole day had been a blur to her. Everything she focused her mind on had to do with what she would be practicing with Professor Abaris that night. Now, as she was crossing the corridors fifteen minutes before the meeting time, her mind was still reeling with possibilities.
The one thing Lily hoped was that he wouldn’t be annoyed that there was no one with her. She mused that from the fact he had decidedly told her that this was a detention was a big enough wink to let her know that it was okay if she really did show up alone. Yet, she was a bit embarrassed to have not been able to recruit anyone. She thought that, after asking a few of her friends, she would have at least caught one person’s interests. However, unlike her, some people who were in the advanced classes wished to just keep it like that, and had no desire for further study. She couldn’t ask James, for sure, since that would have been total humiliation, and the very idea of asking Severus made her feel as if she were helping the enemy prepare to kill her. So, decidedly, she traversed onto the third floor to bask in the knowledge by herself. But, really, was that a bad thing?
Lily’s thoughts concluded that as being no. Surely, she wasn't the only one in danger(in fact, those were the people she asked, and they refused); but, at the moment, she was the best person that would use the information given to her. That wasn’t due to ego or anything of the sort; but, it was simply because, as of late, Lily had become quite a target for the Slytherins who were on their way to making careers being Death Eaters. She knew, for certain, that she was going to be one of the first to be killed, if any of them had gotten the chance. She knew how they jeered at her when she passed by, throwing “Mudblood” at her as if it were an insult. To her, she knew it ran deeper than that. That was the only way they could publicly threaten her life without getting in trouble. But, by Merlin, she would not go down without a fight. Her lessons with Professor Abaris would be a testament to that. Even if practice along with all her duties kept her from being able to keep a social life or even sleep, it didn’t matter. Being alive with little friends was better than being dead with a lot of friends.
During the fall, the castle was a lot hotter than it usually was. It acclimated dramatically to the new seasons, winter and summer being the worst of all. She didn’t wear her robe, just merely her pressed button-up blouse, tie and knee-high skirt, with stockings and black mary-janes to match. She looked as prim and proper as ever, even though her hair was a bit disheveled and she didn’t even bother to wear make up. She didn’t want to overdress, since she wanted to be limber enough to do whatever magic was required of her. She wondered what he would teach her. She knew a lot of defensive spells already; but, only the things that books or required classes would allow you to know. Information that was more pertinent to her survival hadn’t been available to her. For all she knew, there could have been a whole slew of magic she didn’t even know existed.
As she approached the classroom, she patted her skirt pocket to make sure her wand was still there. Clearing her throat, she gave a resounding knock to signal her presence before she entered. She glanced around the empty classroom, frowning slightly as she closed the door behind her. Where was he? She hoped he hadn’t forgotten their plans. Lily took a few steps forward, venturing further into the room as she looked about for any signs of movement.
[red]“Professor Abaris?”[/red] she called, almost sweetly, as she stopped near his desk. [red]“It’s Lily… Lily Evans. I’m here for my, erm… detention.”[/red] She smiled a little.
