[/i] – He probably wouldn’t have had a problem with Snape if it hadn’t been for his best mates and that slimey git always getting into a row which lead to other events [in their past] happening that brought on Remus’ dislike for the Slytherin boy. His hatred doesn’t run quite as deep as Sirius and James’ does, but it’s safe to say that he wouldn’t want to have to spend any amount of time with the guy if he didn’t have to.
full name, remus john lupin
1990's or 1970's? 1970s
nicknames, Remus, Moony, Rem, Lupin.
age, seventeen.
birthday, march 10, 1960
year, seventh year
house, gryffindor
blood status, half-blood
wand, 10”, griffin bone, dogwood
broom, he doesn’t have one, while he does enjoy watching Quidditch and cheering on his best mates, he doesn’t play and therefore doesn’t really see the need to own a broom—though if he’s roped into playing a casual game with his mates he usually either borrows one of their spares or takes one from the broom storage in the quidditch locker rooms.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
WHEN YOU CALL ON ME
the appearance
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
hair color, sandy blonde-light brown with a few grays here and there.
eye color, light blue
height, Remus certainly isn’t average in the height department, standing in at 6’0” and is nothing but skin and bones.
weight, Despite his scrawny appearance (he weighs about 150lbs) he does have muscle mass, it just isn’t as prominent as is with other boys his age, though Remus is no push-over.
general appearance
Remus is incredibly self-conscious, hiding away the many scars from the painful monthly transformations well beneath layers of clothing. The entirety of his backside is scratched and scarred with old and newly healing scars.
His hair is a sandy-blonde color with a few grey hairs here and there, though they’re barely noticeable under normal conditions. The length of his hair could be described as a shaggy and short, coming to just a little below his ears, he likes to keep it as neat as he can, unlike James who seems to have perpetual bed-head.
Remus’ eyes are a beautiful light blue that come to life when he’s laughing with his friends and up to no good. His casual clothing oftentimes looks a bit haggard and unkempt despite the fact that he tries to look his best, giving off an air of exhaustion no matter what time of the month it is.
Remus, when not wearing his school uniform, prefers to dress somewhat nicely by wearing collared shirts and a nice pair of muggle jeans. However sometimes, especially after a full moon, he isn't feeling quite up to it and just wears a tshirt and jeans--or sweatpants, whatever he's comfortable in.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
WHEN YOU REACH FOR ME
the personality
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
likes,
Chocolate – It’s the most delicious confectionery sweet in the world, what’s not to like about it? Remus eats it by the pounds and yet never gains any weight from it, he blames it on his fast [werewolf] metabolism.
Making good grades – He’s very grade-conscious, anything less than an ‘E’ is simply unacceptable in his eyes so it goes without saying that he strives to make the best grade possible. Sirius and James often call him an overachiever but if that’s what it takes to make the grade then call him whatever you want!
His friends – Remus owes everything to his friends, without them [as corny as it sounds] he’d be nowhere—probably a recluse who spends all his free time buried in mountain-high piles of books in the library and having no social life whatsoever. So, without them, he’d be a little worse for wear.
Studying – Even though he probably doesn’t need to study for most things due to his fantastic memory and ability to retain information, he spends several hours a week in the quiet of the library going over notes and textbooks to ensure that he’ll come out on top on the next exam.
Sunny weather – Who doesn’t love the warm caress of the sun? During warm, sunny days Remus [and usually the other Marauders as well] can be found lounging out by the lake, enjoying the warmth and just being lazy in general.
Chocolate Frogs -
Helping others
Quidditch – Just because he doesn’t play it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t enjoy the sport. Remus is content to sitting up in the Gryffindor stands, cheering on his best mates. He knows a decent amount about the game, thanks to James and Sirius’ profound love for the sport, so that if he were to play he would know all the rules—though that doesn’t exactly mean that he’d have the talent to make a score.
dislikes,
Detention – While Remus is no stranger to detention, he doesn’t make a game out of seeing how many detentions he can collect within the span of a month like his best mates do. Luckily, he’s a Prefect and is able to get out of Detention on most days, Professors trust him and will often overlook the fact that he hangs out with Hogwarts number one gang of hooligans due to the fact that he’s genuinely an intelligent and responsible individual who, aside from a couple pranks with his mates [though for the most part he makes sure that he isn’t caught in the act], is an alright guy who doesn’t belong in detention.
Full Moon –. This is sort of a given. Remus is a lycanthrope and as such, every full moon he transforms into a monster—the beast that haunts so many childrens [and adult!] nightmares and fairytales. He absolutely despises what he becomes, and therefore loathes this particular moon cycle…because he can’t control who and what he becomes.
i]Severus Snape
Missing assignments/class due to ‘illness’ - Remus takes great care to make grades that anyone could be proud of and prides himself on being prompt and turning assignments in on time so it goes without saying that he gets a little antsy during ‘that time of the month’ because he knows that he’ll be out of commission for a few days before and after the full moon.
Spicy foods – Due to his lycanthropy, his senses have been heightened to the point that anything with an overwhelming taste or scent bothers Remus and that includes anything that’s deemed ‘spicy’, it burns his taste buds and leaves his tongue and mouth feeling uncomfortable for a few hours. So he tends to stay away from these types of foods.
All this ‘Blood Purity’ nonsense – If you’re able to do magic then you’re a wizard, why should it matter who your parents are and whether or not you’re a pureblood? Remus finds this whole ‘blood purity’ thing to be completely rubbish.
How things in the outside world are going, with the Death Eater attacks and all that. – Well, this one is another obvious one. The wizarding world has been in turbulence ever since that self-proclaimed ‘Dark Lord’ decided to make a mess of things. Remus is obviously against violence and thinks that the senseless killings of innocent people is absolutely disgusting and hopes that Voldemort is captured and brought to justice for his crimes.
strengths,
loyalty You won’t find a more loyal friend than Remus. He’s the type of guy that you could tell all of your secrets and inner most desires to and know that that information is safe. He’ll fight for what he believes in, whether with words or magic [though he tends to try his hand at solving problems with words and logic first before having to resort to using magic].
Intelligence He is by far one of the brightest wizards in their year, or maybe in the entirety of Hogwarts! He is exceptionally brilliant for his age, retaining nearly every bit of information he has ever read and putting it to practical use. Remus makes perfect marks in almost every class he is in, aside from a certain few that he struggles in (though he’s too embarrassed to admit it).
weaknesses,
Full Moon – For the same reason why he dislikes it.
Chocolate – It’s a guilty pleasure of his, he’s usually got some sort of the confectionery sweet on his person at all times, whether it be a pack of Chocolate Frogs or a bar of it, chances are he’s got it stashed in his pocket for later.
He’s too nice – And while being nice may be considered a good thing Remus tends to go a little overboard with himself sometimes, purposely going out of his way to help others to the point that it leaves him a little exhausted. For example; If he’s got a major essay do the next day that, for whatever reason, he hasn’t started yet and someone asks him for help with one of their assignments he’ll stop what he’s doing and help them with their problem before going back to finish his work [which usually leads to him pulling an all nighter to finish it]
worst fear, Remus’s worst fear is having his secret get out to the public, it’s hard enough that he and his friends have to go through great lengths to keep it under wraps—if someone were to figure it out it would spell disaster for the young Gryffindor. His whole life would be ruined, he already considers himself to be a monster but to have his peers publicly label him as one would shatter him.
Going along with this, Remus is terrified of hurting someone when he’s a wolf. He has no control over what he does in that form and he’s afraid that he might end up accidentally attacking and/or killing someone.
boggart, When he was a young child he was bitten by a werewolf by the name of Greyback, subsequently turning him into a child of the moon as well, and because of his ‘furry little problem’ he knows that he’ll never lead a happy and normal life.

overall personality, If you were to see Remus Lupin wandering the hallways you’d more than likely get the impression that he was the quiet type who found solace in the books he read. In assuming this you’d only be half right, but there is a whole other side to him that only his best-mates know.
He can be just as mischievous as James and Sirius and is oftentimes the brains behind the crazy schemes that they come up with. He’s the force that keeps everything held together; his quick thinking is what gets the Marauders out of trouble time and time again, though they certainly are no strangers to Detention. He's got a good heart and will stop whatever he's doing to help someone who's in need. Remus is kind and caring and exceedingly bright for someone his age, however he's also got a mischievous streak--which explains how he fits so perfectly into his group of misfit, trouble-making friends. He's a Marauder through and through.
He is exceptionally brilliant for his age, retaining nearly every bit of information he has ever read and putting it to practical use. Remus makes perfect marks in almost every class he is in, aside from a certain few that he struggles in (though he’s too embarrassed to admit it).
For one so young he’s been through a lot; Remus Lupin is 17 going on 30 with the graying hair to prove it. He is unbelievably kind hearted and is willing to help out anyone in need, no matter what background they come from or what situation they’re in. Perhaps this is why he’s such a likeable guy, Remus is very easy to get along with, the perfect, polite gentleman that any girl would be proud to bring home to meet her parents.

siblings, Only child
overall history, Remus was born March 10, 1960 and was the pride and joy of his mother and father, their perfect, handsome, little boy. As a young child he was bitten by the werewolf known as Fenrir Greyback after his father had insulted said werewolf, werewolves are known to have incredibly short tempers and Greyback was no exception. He went after the one thing that meant the world to Marc, his son, biting the young child and thus inflicting poor Remus with the curse of the werewolf.
His parents did all that they could to help treat his condition, taking him to specialists at St. Mungo’s, but nothing could be done to cure the boy. When Remus received his letter to Hogwarts he and his parents were wary, the thought that he was a hazard to the safety of the student population running through their minds. However, Albus Dumbledore waved off their worries, assuring them that he would not be a danger to anyone and encouraged, more like insisted, that he come to Hogwarts.
To secure the safety of those around him, a small shack was built just outside of Hogsmeade where he would go every month during the full moon to undergo the painful transformation that accompanied Lycanthropy. Remus had to develop a lie revolving around an imaginary aunt who seemed to have the worst luck, every month she contracted some sort of disease that left her practically immobilized—Remus would have to leave school and go tend to her. He kept his personal curse a secret until in the 2nd year his best-mates, James, Sirius, and Peter found out and surprisingly still accepted him for who he was. Remus was moved to tears by this, he never even considered the thought that maybe there were people out there, like his parents, who would accept him for who he was and not what he became once a month. The boys then set out to become illegal animagi so that every full moon they could be there with Remus and help him through the transformation. It was then that Remus realized he had the greatest friends anyone could ever have and he’d do anything for them. It wasn’t until their fifth year that the boys were able to successfully transform into a stag (James), a shaggy black dog (Sirius), and a rat (Peter). From their animagus forms [and Remus’ lycanthropy] stemmed the nicknames that the boys have for eachother, Moony, Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail.

What a nightmare that had been, well the dance had started off fine and he would admit to enjoying the small talk he and Al and the rest of their friends had made. But then, like clockwork, Sirius and Eavan had come in and ruined everything with their sick sense of humor and perverted ideas. Remus knew that he should’ve been used to being in situations like that since he hung out with Sirius and James on a daily basis, they were practically brothers, but it still never ceased to amaze him how shameless his friends really were. Did they never feel embarrassment? Well, he already knew the answer to that question—which was ‘no’.
And poor Al. He hadn’t even seen her since the incident and he was a little worried that she’d get herself into trouble, not the kind that he and the other Marauders got into on a daily basis, but the kind that could put her in harm’s way…or end in her being emotionally distraught. Neither of which were things that he’d want his friend to go through, especially alone. Remus had gone out of his way to track down Ave to ask if she’d seen Al since the dance, she hadn’t and was just as worried as he had been. Desperate times called for desperate measures and he found himself digging through the mess that was the 6th Year Gryffindor boy’s, searching for a particular map of parchment that could hopefully point him in the right direction to find the 6th year Hufflepuff.
“Disgusting. Padfoot really needs to clean his side of the room, this is getting ridiculous.[/color]” He groaned, hesitantly shoving aside a pile of dirty clothes and digging further into the mess. His fingers made contact with something crinkly and worn feeling, grasping the edges of it and pulling it out Remus let out a triumphant Aha!.
“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” He spoke quietly, pressing the tip of his wand to the front of the parchment and watching as lines and words came to life before him, depicting the inner workings of the castle and all of its occupants. His pale gaze drifted back and forth over the map, searching for one specific name…but it wasn’t there. That could only mean that she wasn’t in the castle or on the grounds immediately surrounding the structure. The only places she could possibly be were either Hogsmeade…or the Forbidden Forest. Surely she wasn’t foolish enough to go wandering around in the forest…it was incredibly dangerous to go out in there!
He scrunched up his nose in contemplation before tossing the map aside and rushing out of Gryffindor Tower, his destination? The Forbidden Forest. If she was still as upset as she had been the night of the dance then he was willing to bet that she was feeling a little reckless. He hoped that he was wrong and that she was enjoying a butterbeer in Hogsmeade, which would be his next destination should she not wind up in the forest.
It didn’t take him very long to get out of the castle and make his way down to the edge of the forest, especially at the pace he was going at. But now he needed to figure out how to go about looking for her since, let’s face it, the forest wasn’t exactly small and it was pretty easy to get lost in there…
Remus glanced over his shoulder to make sure that no one was watching, before slipping into the cool, shaded forest, his eyes scanning over his surroundings looking for a familiar head of brunette hair. He spent nearly half an hour turning over rocks and logs, glancing up trees to see if she had climbed them and just all around searching everywhere he could possibly think =of that she could be hiding. He was about to turn around and head back to campus where he’d then proceed to head down to Hogsmeade when he hurt a strange noise. Normally it wouldn’t have surprised him because there were all sorts of creatures living in the forest, but this noise sounded like the type of clicking sound that people made with their tongue when they were trying to coax and animal to come towards them.
He walked forward, pushing past the branches and vines that hung in his way before coming out into the open, shielding his eyes from the sudden splash of sunlight.
“You’re good at hiding, I’ve been searching all over for you.[/color]”
