general appearance When it comes to Harry's appearance, he is often times told he is the exact image of his father. Except his eyes, which are clearly his mother's. Harry isn't the tallest, strongest, or burliest of all guys. He is rather gangly and somewhat awkward. He doesn't do much with his appearance. His hair is dark black and rather unruly. It tends to have a mind of its own, usually seen sticking up in all the wrong directions. His eyes are an emerald green, the one feature that is strikingly his mother's. They tend to share his emotions, for those that are close to him. The most distinguishing feature about Harry, however, is the lightning bolt shaped scar that flickers across his forehead, the sign of his survival and the one thing that sets him visibly apart from the rest of the world. Harry also wears circular glasses, and without them, he's blind as a bat. Of generally average height, weight, and build, there is nothing outstanding about Harry's appearance. His scar is the feature that typically sets him apart, and his bright eyes.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

strengths, Harry is a true Gryffindor. He refuses to back down from a challenge. He faces all evils with determination and courage. He finds a way to brave in the gravest of dangers, and even though he may be terrified, he keeps up a strong face for the benefit of those around him. He's also talented with his magic. From a young age, he was forced to learn spells way beyond his years, and due to this, he's incredibly good. Of course, luck has tended to be on his side as well. Harry is also a fierce and loyal friend. He does not hesitate to put his life in danger to protect those who he truly loves. He would do anything for his dearest of friends.
weaknesses, Harry tends to be very emotional. He's quick to anger, tends to fall into silences of moodiness, and sometimes overreacts to medicore situations. He'll jump into battle at the first chance he gets, even if it isn't the smart thing to do. He acts before thinking, which has led him to some poor consquences in the past. He also isolates himself at times, always trying to save everyone else from potential hurt or danger. He will push others away, because he feels he is only gong to make them a target to Voldemort. Harry has a nasty temper, and once you've done something to cross him, he's not likely to forgive you. It's hard to gain back his good graces once you've done something to anger him.
worst fear, That he will not be able to defeat Voldemort in the end and will let down the entire wizarding world & dementors

overall personality, In all essence, Harry James Potter is a complex person. There isn’t a single thing about him that could be considered simple. Sometimes bipolar and moody, Harry often resembles a normal teenage boy, coupled with rage, anger, and an attitude. However, Harry can also be much older than his age, a trait most likely due to the fact that he lived without parents and was forced to grow up into a world of darkness. Harry can, at times, be a true gryffindor. Underneath his initial traits, however, a slytherin personality can also be identified. In all truth, Harry is hard to sum up and even more difficult to understand, though easy to like.
Like any normal person, Harry has his ups and downs in his personality. on the good side, Harry is very loyal, determined, brave, courageous, responsible, and kind. Harry’s loyalty speaks volumes. Once he commits himself to someone or something, there is no going back. He would risk his life for those he loved, just as his mother did for him. He would never even think to betray someone that he loved, or someone who was incredibly close to him. Harry is also a very determined individual, a trait he needs to possess in order to complete the tasks he has done throughout his life. He refuses to back down from any challenge, no matter how large. Once he knows he must do something, he will stop at nothing to finish the task. Harry, in the spirit of a true gryffindor, is also incredibly brave. In the face of danger, which he has been in many times, Harry always steps forward and accepts the facts. He doesn’t care how dangerous something is, or how he could get hurt or killed. Instead, he simply goes forward and performs what needs to be done. Throughout this entire life, Harry has constantly proved his courage and bravery. Harry is also responsible. a very intelligent young man, Harry knows his duties. He is not oblivious to the fact that he alone can bring about the end of Voldemort. He may not enjoy such a responsibility, but he does so willingly. He carries the burdens of many, and he knows he must not let the entire world down. Overall, Harry is kind. He is not a mean person. In his heart, he knows that he could not cause someone pain or sorrow. He doesn’t like to see others suffering. He may not show it as well as others, but he is a very good hearted, kind fellow. There really isn’t a mean bone in his body, until someone sparks his temper.
And yes, there are the flaws as well. He isn’t the type of person to pretend as if he doesn’t have flaws, because he knows he does. Harry has quite a quick temper. It doesn’t take much to set him off. And once he is off in a rage, he is very unpredictable. He tends to make foolish decisions go off doing rash actions. If someone hurts or offends him, he doesn’t hesitate to go after them, forcing some sort of duel. Harry can also be quite moody and bipolar, like any teenage boy. With the life he has had, Harry could honestly be miserable with cause. He has his days where he feels as if none of it matters—his parents are gone, along with Sirius. To him, it seems that anyone he gets close to is killed. This prevents him from allowing himself to get close to anyone, besides Hermione and Ron. He distances himself from others, because he does not want to target them to Voldemort. He has had a rough life, so at times, he can be a bit melancholy and saddened. Harry is also quick to judge. When it comes to people he doesn’t like, he tends to allow himself to blame them on instinct, even when they were not the culprit and he has no solid evidence. Harry also can be a bit stressed and worrisome, due to the pressure that is placed on his shoulders. Harry has the responsibility of the entire wizarding world. Everyday he finds himself worrying about the outcome, and whether or not his friends will remain safe.
In summary, Harry is a complex individual who has his ups and downs. With good attributes and flaws, Harry encompasses a complete person who has worries, fears, and wants. He is kind and loyal, yet at times he goes into a moody spell. All in all, Harry is driven, determined, honest, and brave.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

overall history, harry was born to the most loving of parents on july 31st in a time of darkness, uprising, and fear. his parents, however, were far from those who feared. instead, they were original members of the order of the phoenix, and quite proud of it. before harry was born, a prophecy had been made about a child born at the end of july. this child would be the one and only who could ever defeat voldemort. therefore, it was made a mission that harry must be killed so that the prophecy could never be fulfilled.
on october 31st, 1981, voldemort came to godric’s hollow where lily and james lived with harry. this night is perhaps the most important night in wizarding history, along with harry’s own personal life. here, voldemort planned to kill the family, except for lily, due to a promise he had made with severus snape. voldemort killed james first, but lily, who was willing to risk her life to protect her son, stirred up a bit of ancient magic. due to this act of pure love, harry was spared and the killing curse voldemort performed left him with nothing but a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead.
directly after this, voldemort left the house, entirely distressed and angered that he could not physically kill the child. albus dumbledore sent hagrid, the hogwarts groundskeeper, to collect harry, the one year old boy who had magically survived a killing curse from the most powerful and dark wizard in the world at the time. on a flying motorcycle, hagrid was off with the baby boy.
and that’s when harry was placed on his aunt petunia and uncle vernon’s doorstep. for years after his arrival, harry was treated like complete scum. his aunt was his mother’s sister, and they never treated him fairly. harry had no idea of his magic abilities. his aunt and uncle claimed his parents died in a car crash, and he had survived, getting only the scar on his forehead. living with his aunt, uncle, and cousin, dudley, harry had quite a terrible upbringing.
harry did display some forms of his magic throughout his childhood. however, his aunt and uncle were quite determined to rid harry of any magic that he held. during the summer of 1991, harry began receiving strange letters from owls. his aunt and uncle, knowing it had something to do with his magic, fled to a shack out in the middle of the sea. during a turbulent storm, and on the night before his eleventh birthday, hagrid reappeared in his life, collecting harry from his aunt and uncle. hagrid explained to harry all about his magic, and how his parents really died. it took some convincing, but eventually, harry began to understand what he was. that year, he went off to hogwarts for the first time.
during that first train ride and night, harry bonded quickly with ron weasley and then later, hermione granger. thus, the golden trio was formed. the three became best friends, and would stay so for the rest of their lives. harry was sorted into gryffindor that night, the same as his parents.
during harry’s first year, harry discovered that professor quirrell was being possessed by voldemort, who wanted to obtain the philosopher’s stone and become immortal. through a series of tests, including a three-headed dog, fluffy, and a large, life size chess game, harry defeated voldemort and the dark wizard fled off. it was a jubilant time and harry’s first year ended in a happy way. it was also during his first year that he began as the seeker of the gryffindor team, something unprecedented.
during harry’s second year, ginny weasley, ron’s only sister and a first year, became possessed by a diary that belonged to tom marvolo riddle. in another series of events, the chamber of secrets was opened and harry entered to battle against a basilisk and also to learn that tom riddle was voldemort when he was young. nearly dying in the process, he managed to save ginny, who was also near death.
harry’s third year was just as eventful. during this year, remus lupin came to teach defense against the dark arts. he was a close friend of james, harry’s father. during this year, sirius black is introduced into harry’s life and at first, harry thinks he is the one who betrayed his parents. however, at the end, sirius turns out to be harry’s godfather and they become close as peter pettigrew, who had been hiding as ron’s rat, scabbers, was discovered to be the true betrayer. in a large battle, harry confronts pettigrew, who manages to get away. sirius black goes free though, and harry gains a small bit of a family through this year.
harry’s fourth year happened to be the year the triwizard tournament arrived at hogwarts. by some chance of fate, or so it is thought, harry gets chosen as the fourth contender, another unprecedented event. going into the final challenge and leg of the tournament, harry is in second place, which he finds surprising. however, as he and cedric diggory go together towards the trophy, it is a portkey and they get transported to a graveyard where all the death eaters are standing about, waiting for harry to arrive. with the use of harry’s blood, voldemort is given life again, his soul being transported into a body. during a duel, harry and voldemort both cast spells and a strange occurrence happens, showing all of the ghosts of those who voldemort killed. seeing his parents and others, harry knows he has to let go and make it to the portkey and go back to hogwarts. cedric gets killed during this exchange and he takes the body back. his arrival back at hogwarts brings the truth out that voldemort has returned, though he is doubted.
in harry’s fifth year, he finds that no one believes that voldemort is truly back. because of this, the ministry takes charge of hogwarts. with dolores umbridge in charge of everything at the castle, things get out of hand and the school becomes more like azkaban. harry leads a group of students, known as dumbledore’s army, and teaches them how to duel and defend themselves against dark magic. dumbledore also lets harry know that his scar was being used as a connection to voldemort. harry could see into what voldemort was doing, and likewise. during a vision, harry sees sirius at the ministry, in the department of mysteries, talking to voldemort and being threatened with death. harry rushes out with his friends and make it there, only to find the vision was a false one and a lure. they manage to find the prophecy and fight against the death eaters. sirius ends up being killed by bellatrix lestrange, something that breaks harry’s heart. voldemort flees, leaving harry heart broken and sorry that his false vision lured them all there into a trap.
harry returned for his sixth year at hogwarts, still burdened by the death of his godfather. one night, he went to bed as usual, surprised to actually nod off to sleep. when he awoke the following morning, something was very, very wrong. harry quickly realized that the people around him were not his usual classmates. instead, it was many years before, his parents age. he found himself face to face with his parent's generation. glad to see that ron and hermione were around as well, the three stuck together, unsure of what to do. they did not want to upset the entire future, and they knew they had to find a way back to their own year. however, harry couldn't help feeling somewhat happy. he could finally get a chance to speak and get to know his parents, along with others that he had never gotten a chance to know. plus, the wizarding world hadn't kown the horror that was bestowed on it, yet. there was a slight calm to everything. harry felt he could soak up the time he was given in his parent's years, secretly hoping it would last forever, but knowing it wouldn't.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

roleplay sample. The sunset was beautiful. It caught and held his attention, focusing all of his thoughts. For those few moments, he let the rest of the world fall to the back of his mind. Instead, he let himself be mesmerized by the sight in front of him. When had he forgotten to appreciate the little things? It had been so long since he had felt any sort of peace and calamity. Taking those few precious moments, he held onto them, grasping for something he knew would be gone once the sun and set and darkness began to dwell over their heads. He wasn’t meant to be happy, not during these times. He had too much in front of him, too many things that needed to be finished. He took a moment there to hope, wish, pray almost, that someday he would be able to enjoy the life around him without worrying constantly about the next encounter he would have with Voldemort, and how he would finally end the darkness in the wizarding world.
He heard her before she spoke. Without even looking in the direction of the approaching noise, he knew who it was that was coming towards him. Perhaps that is simply how it was with a soulmate? You knew when they were near you. Your instincts kicked in, you could sense them. That’s how it was with Harry. He could feel her getting closer to him. He almost didn’t want to turn his head, afraid of the way he would react when he saw her standing there, close enough to touch, hold, kiss. Ginny was the girl he was supposed to be with, and he couldn’t help hoping that one day he would be able to be with her without his other fears. He concentrated on the day when this war would be over, after their triumph, when he would be able to gather her in his arms without any fears, and truthfully, make her his, once and for all.
She had stopped, and she spoke to him. Finally, he couldn’t resist any longer. Turning his head towards her, he felt himself go speechless for the slightest of moments. The lingering oranges and reds of the sunset in the light caught fire to her hair, highlighting his favorite things about her. He knew that he would want to reach out to her, and he did. He wanted to take her by the hand, pull her down beside him, let his fingers trail through that perfect, fiery hair. He felt the weight of the world on his shoulders then, and he did his best to push aside the thoughts of taking her into him and allowing his heart and soul to pour into her, just the way he always wanted to. He loved her, probably too much. However, he had to remain strong. He couldn’t deliberately put her into danger...
This encounter was going to be hard for the both of them. He hadn’t spoken to her since his birthday. He almost smiled, thinking back on that day. She had given him the best thing he could possibly ask for. However, Ron had interrupted them, a tiny fact that still bothered Harry to this day. But, the memory of that kiss lingered on his lips, and it was almost enough to carry him through the entire war. That single memory, and the ones of all the times they had spent together before, kept him going, giving him more motivation. “I know.” He paused. He wanted to say everything he felt, but he wasn’t sure it was for the best. Before he could calculate what he wanted to say, he had said it, unsure if he should have. “I’ve missed you.”
Almost cursing out loud, he knew that he mustn’t say such things. It only made it harder for the two of them to stay apart. He needed to talk to her, to further explain himself. He wanted her to know how much he loved her, that she was the only girl out there for him. He just didn’t know how to make her understand that they could not be together right now. “Come here.” He asked her softly, looking up at where she stood, looking like an angel with that beautiful, red hair.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
