WHEN YOU CALL ON ME
the appearance
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
hair color, Lily's hair makes her stand out quite a bit. Lily's hair is a bright shade of red. It was much lighter when she was a child, almost strawberry blonde, but it darkened quite a bit as she got older. Her hair has always been rather long, typically to about her chest. She's rather hesitant about cutting it short. Normally, it's worn in natural waves. She prefers it much better down. The color was something she wasn't fond of in grade school, but as she grew up she learned to love it. She thought it made her unique.
eye color, Her eyes are described as a deep emerald green. They are perceptive and all-knowing in their gaze. A friend of hers once said that her piercing eyes could rival that of Dumbledore's in their perceptiveness. Her eyes tend to be the first thing you notice about the girl. Her eye lashes are naturally long, but she does frequently wear mascara. She always liked her eyes, thought her lashes were too light though. A soft shade of brown mascara was her quick fix solution to that.
height, Around 5'6-5'7
weight, 137
general appearance
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : She stands at about 5'6-5'7, weighing around 137 pounds. She is very lean and fit, almost as strong as any male Quidditch player in her house, and once challenged a boy to an one-on-one arm-wrestling match when he tried to say that a "boy is stronger than any girl in all aspects".
( ATTIRE ) : As far as fashion went, she's barely out of her uniform during the school year. But, she does have a strong preference for muggle fashions. They were something she was used to. When she does decide to wear something more casual, she prefers to don a pair of black trainers, along with the occasional band shirt and skinny jeans.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

overall personality,
( KEYWORDS ) :
Loyal - Lily deeply cares about her friends and is incredibly loyal to them. She's willing to go the extra mile for a friend. However, this loyalty is something that can only be lost by breaking her trust. If you're close enough to her, Lily will not hesitate to sacrifice herself for your safety.
Charming - Despite the fact she is a bit opinionated at times, Lily can be quite the charmer. She's a kind girl and rather delightful. She's polite and carries herself in a genuine and respectable manner to those she feels deserves it, and she's been known to be an occassional heartbreaker.
Stubborn - Lily is a hard girl to push. She's always been one to stand her ground. If she firmly believes in something, or think she's right, it's hard to sway her opinion. You really need to put in the work to prove her wrong about something. And, even then, it's even harder to get her to admit that she is wrong and that someone else is right.
Bold - Lily is a very confident young woman. She's very intune with herself, and not afraid to show who she is. She has never been afraid to speak her mind, or stand up for something she believes in. And if anyone tries to intimidate her, she will not hesitate to knock you down a peg or two by proving that nothing and NO ONE can frighten her into submission.
Intelligent - The girl has a brilliant mind. She has top marks in many of her classes. She also is willing to put in the time to achieve the results she wants. She's be called 'the most intuitive student of the age,' by several of her teachers, Slughorn and Flitwick especially. Though she needs a little bit of help in Transfiguration, and absolutely REFUSES to take a subject as ridiculous as Divination because of the subject's current professor, she is an otherwise bright individual and talented witch.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

overall history,
"I guess you want to know it all then. Don't worry I'll rush through the boring parts.
I was born in a hospital not far from Spinner's End. It was the worst blizzard they'd seen in decades, and my parents were completely snowed in. But that dark and stormy night in January, they welcomed me into the world. My childhood was fairly normal, until I met Severus Snape.
Until that point I was just your typical muggle child- bare in mind then I didn't know what a muggle was let alone that it was a real thing. I was very close with Petunia, but we were also very young. At that point in my life she was my best friend, and well... lets just say that changed a bit. I was just like the other kids for the most part, except for the fact that strange little things seemed to happen to me. First I made a flower bloom, I really just thought it happened quickly on its own, but little things like that kept happening. I never thought twice about them until the strange little boy down the street started telling me stories about a magical world.
Wonderful stories about witches and wizards, and a school with enchanted hall ways. It all seemed like a wonderful place created in a child's mind, it seemed as if it could hardly be true. I grew rather fond of Severus, his stories were incredible, and I desperately wanted them to be true. Petunia wasn't as fond of him, always calling him a variety of despicable names in the hopes of running him off. But he never left. He always stayed by my side when things with Tuney became strained.
When I was eleven my letter to Hogwarts came. Actually, that was probably the last summer Petunia and I had a real relationship. Things just weren't the same after I left. Mum and dad were proud of me, which was a plus. They were fascinated by all of it. And I'm certain that the shift in attention attributed to Petunia's jealousy. She was always the type to enjoy the spotlight.
I went with Severus to the station, and we rode the train together. That was the first time I met James Potter, actually. At first, I was not a fan of the boy. Actually, for a while I wasn't a fan of the boy. Now you can tell something has changed about him a bit, he's matured in a way, but then he was a prat.
Strangely, before I was sorted, I wanted to be in Slytherin. Severus told me all these wonderful things about it. In actuality, it isn't that wonderful, and I'm far better off in Gryfindor, but then I was crushed. The hat hadn't even considered Slytherin. It spoke about Gryffindor and Raveclaw. I'm happy it made the choice it did, I personally think I'm too bold for Ravenclaw.
I loved Hogwarts from day one. I grew up in those halls. Over time, Severus and I grew apart. For a while, we managed to stay fairly good friends. The rest of my friends didn't understand why I "wasted my time" with him, and I'm certain he told his friends that him and I weren't friends at all. But the thing was, I really cared for Severus. I'd even had a little bit of a crush on him, for awhile. He was my best friend. I loved him.
In fifth year, our friendship came to an unfavorable end, sotospeak. It was clear that we'd both changed by that point. Aside from Severus, the rest of Slytherin wasn't completely fond of me. I was muggleborn, most of them were blood purists. They saw themselves as above me. The day he called me a mudblood in public, made it fairly clear where his alliances lied. He'd tried to apologize to me that evening, hoping that I'd forgive him like I had so many times before. Mudblood was the last straw for me, however. It hurt too much to know that, even after everything we'd been through together, he sided with their beliefs rather than what I had believed to be his own. It hurt to know that, after so many years of friendship, Severus would simply throw it all away by calling me such a horrid name. I had thought that we were friends, but...well, I suppose I thought wrong.
Up until 5th Year, I really didn't have much connection to the Marauders. Well aside from Remus. Actually, I liked Remus. He was normal in comparisson to the other three. James and Sirius were complete prats. Their egos were so large its a wonder their brooms could get off the ground. But in fifth year, I became surprisingly close to Remus. He was a prefect too, so we had to spend alot of time together. Remus was easy to tell things to, he understood alot. I'd say over that year he became one of my friends. Unfortunately, his actions were nearly as unforgivable as Severus' in my eyes, and I haven't spoken to him since. Ignoring such a horrible act against a fellow student was just as bad as committing the act itself.
Sixth Year had been a nightmare, for the most part. On top of the typical, unfavorable encounters with the occasional Slytherin, I had to work twice as hard to avoid both Severus and the Marauders, Potter especially. It seemed to work, for the most part. I would ignore Snape any time he made an attempt to speak to me, which was less and less often, as the months went by. And Potter...well, he grew up a bit, though I hate to admit it. I haven't become friends with him, by any means, but I don't think I dislike him as much as I used to. After Sixth Year, I spent a relatively quiet summer at home with Mum and Dad, trying to ignore Tuney's subtle insults and bearing it with a grin as she got married to that whale of a man named Dursley. Though I love my mum and dad, I cannot help but be simply ecstatic at the idea of returning to Hogwarts for my final year. Despite the unavoidable encounters with unfavorable classmates and the prejudices of several Pureblood students, Hogwarts is like a second home to me.
All I can say is that I'm hopeful that this year - my final year at Hogwarts! - will be the most memorable yet."- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

roleplay sample. Okay, here's a short little post I wrote as Lily on another site; remember that there are A FEW quotations that were other characters speaking in previous posts that Lily was replying to:Lily couldn't look away. Who would willingly cause such destruction? Who would brutally murder a little boy and set a building on fire, cackling madly as they did so? It was horrible, inhumane. She swallowed the bile that rose in her throat, staring wide-eyed at the boy's mangled, lifeless body. She didn't move until she felt someone grab her and try to turn her away. In a sudden panic, she screamed, turning and fighting against the wizard frantically, arms and legs flailing. She clawed and scratched, and only until she heard a voice speaking frantically to her did she recognize James. She barely noticed the costume he was wearing, and stood stiffly in his arms as he spoke. "Lily, don't look at it. I know you hate my guts with a passion, but keep looking at me." he said as he put his hands on her face to guide her sight to him. She faintly noted that he had gentle hands. "Look I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for what I did. But you have to listen to me dammit! There is something horrible going on, you need to get far away as possible, I don't want to lose you."
Lily could not stop the indignant look that entered her face at the end of his short speech. "Shut up, Potter! I'm not going to run away when there are others in danger. I'm not some damsel in distress. I can take care of myself." She shouted of the sea of frightened screams throughout Hogsmeade. She looked at him again and said, "I think it was Malfoy! After the first curse was cast, I saw him pull a hood on top of his head. He didn't bother to glamour his hair or his eyes."
When the water seemed to not be enough for the fire, Lily looked around. Spotting a relatively soft bit of ground, she pointed her wand at it and shouted, "Aguamenti!" After that, she levitated the large pile of soaked earth and spread it over several portions of the fire, extinguishing it immediately. Fire needed oxygen in order for it to spread, and as long as she was able to keep the fire from obtaining it, it would soon die out. She levitated mud to surround the fire, and then began to cover it, praying that a few other witches and wizards would get the hint and help her put the rest of it out.
Lily faltered when she came across an old wizard with a striking resemblance to Sirius Black. Noticing the trade-mark hair and eyes staring wonderingly at James - as though he had not seen him in forever - however, Lily scowled. "Black!" she scowled, "I would compliment your costume and ask where you got the aging potion, but we're in a bit of a bind right now, so if you would be kind enough...?" Lily trailed off frantically as she spotted a masked, hooded figure, and frantically pushed both James and Sirius out of the way as she heard the figure shout "Crucio!" Unfortunately for Lily, she was not able to dodge the Unforgivable herself. She crumpled to the ground as soon as it hit her, a surprised, agonized scream ripping itself from her throat. She jerked and screamed at the top of her lungs as the feel of thousands of white-hot needles penetrated her skin, her muscles spasming and tears rolling down her face as she wordlessly pleaded to be released from this torture. She was sure it must have been hours that she was under the curse, when in reality it was only a few seconds.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
