Dear Diary,

Last night was the Masquerade ball. Let me just say that things got quite interesting. But best to start from the beggining. THIS was my outfit, cute right? Let me say I looked quite lovely. My hair was curled up and in a bun with some curly strands hanging down. When I first arrived it was pretty empty. I was pretty early I guess. Well I was sort of the first one there, and of course I didn't have a date to add to my embarassment. Anyways after a few minutes another girl came in. Her name was Harper, she was a Gryffindor transfer student. We hung out for a while. Planning to do all these innapropriate things. Like skinny dipping and such. Maybe not the best conversation in front of a Professor. Especially Professor Abiris. Something about that man intimidates me and scared me crapless. So I mostly try to avoid conflict with the guy. Anyways so here we are, having a blast. Planning on using our lovely lady charm to get better music. When suddenly a beautiful red head walks in dressed like a snow angel in my opinion. It was Lily.

I waved her over and introduced her formally to Harper. Then suddenly a pair of hands, may I add in, very soft hands, covered my eyes. It was the one and only Emmelia. The wicked sweet Slytherin girl I told you about. So she joined in on the party. Even though she would never technically be accepted into the "no-dates-yet-going-to-have-a-blast" group because she did have a date with Sirius Black who had not yet arrived. Then suddenly a sweet boy joined us. He seemed so awkward and nervous. Then again we were a group of beautiful girls. It was brave for him to join us. Lily already met him and apparently he and Harper already knew him. He was James Potter's cousin. His name was Harry Potter. He joined our no date group so I guess we were like a more innocent version of a foursome. Apparently he looks just like James but I noticed his eyes through the mask. They were emerald green like Lily's. I knew that many people had green eyes but his was like an exact replica. Like a kid would look if they mixed James with Lily's eyes. But I didn't pay much attention to it. My attention was on Lily who was distracted with Severus Snape.

Snape got another date and it obviously bugged Lily. Harry noticed and I accidently let it slip that they didn't have a good past. That he did a horrible thing to her. I didn't give any specifics at all but I promised him I would explain later. I still owe him that explanation. Soon enough Lily stormed over there, I could tell she was upset. She started to be rude to them and soon enough it was yelling. Before I knew it, the majority of the ball was there watching the scene break out. I tried to stop Lily but it didn't work. I feel as if I didn't try hard enough. Lily was the angriest I have ever saw her and it hurt me to see her like that. Luckily Professor Abiris got involved and talked to her in private. Poor Hannah, Snape's date, was alone in the corner of the room crying. I would've comforted her but I was urged to go talk to Lily and try to calm her down. Of course she would need a girl's comfort in a time like that.

When I went I was rudely glared at and shooed away by the Professor. I left without a fight, just a simple stammer. I actually stuttered a bit. That was how much he intimidated me. Merlin, now that is really embarassing. When I got back I told them how he was rude to me and everyone seemed pretty upset about it. Even though I think they were taking their anger at Severus out on the professor. After all someone couldn't get as mad as to want to sneak into his office and do things just because he was rude to me. But we were planning on pranking. I did learn a couple of tricks. Here are my mental notes about pranking.
1) It is all about the Element of Surprise
2) It is about timing, you must know the prankee's schedule
3) Always be friends with a prefect (helps if I am the prefect)
4) friends with a head boy helps also
That was as far as we got. Soon Harry got us punch. After that it is kind of like a blur. As I write this I feel my head pounding and I am still giggling a bit. I wonder if it was spiked. It does make sense because my thoughts keep going to wanting Harry's pony but I doubt Harry even has a pony...

Anyways I need to talk to Lily but I haven't gotten the chance. I hope she's not mad at me because I hate it when she is mad at me. I also sort of want to see that Hannah Abbott girl and talk to her. I feel bad for her and I want to make sure she's okay. Then I need to tell Harry about the whole Lily and Snape situation. Which I am surprised his cousin, James, haven't told him yet. Well that's all for now I believe.

Dear Diary,

I woke up on the couch with a huge hangover. My head was pounding loud and clear in my ears. I never had a hangover but I do not care for another one in the future. I will be sure to stay away from liquor for a while. Anyways, Bellatrix Black was already there, also hungover. Then there was Diana who was playing the piano. It was lovely, I am always amazed by the girl's skills. I felt horrible to ask her to make it more quiet though. It is so lovely but pains my brain because of my horrid hangover. Apparently everyone was aware of the spiked punch except me. I only became aware when it was too late. But anyways, soon Ginny Weasley came in, she is such a sweet girl, I love her. She is one of those transfer students, I will miss her when she leaves our school. so for now I must enjoy her company here at Hogwarts.

Anyways she sat next to me and Bellatrix was rude to her. That Black sister is practically mental. I know it sounds rude but I'm not lying. I swear she will kill me one of these days. She will probably kill everyone in the world who doesn't believe in her beliefs. She may be powerful and dangerous but yet I still see myself standing up to her. Even Ginny stood up to her. I respect the bravery that girl has in her. More people need to be like her. She is also such a sweetie, running off to get me something for my horrible headache. Which was completely unneeded but I appreciated it because I didn't have the energy to do so myself.

But while Ginny was gone I heard Regulus bad talk Em about what happened. I had to defend Em, she is a close friend after all. And friends do that for each other. Regulus was talking about how she would pay for her decision. I told him that the heart wants what the heart wants and no one can control it. Why punish someone for loving someone? I understand he's hurt and wants revenge. I hate to say it but what Emmelia did was mean. Even she knew it. But at least she didn't try keeping it a secret. She told them as soon as she could. Then there was Bellatrix who first threatened to hex me. I would never admit it outloud but I was scared at that moment. Ginny wasn't back yet so i had no one to help me out. I had grabbed my wand, fear in my eyes. Bellatrix knew I was scared. Which made it much worse.

I am thankful that Regulus said against it. Even if it was for his own concern for Bellatrix getting in trouble, it still kept me out of getting hurt. But the he left telling Bellatrix to do what she wanted. Luckily I escaped Bellatrix's wrath this time but I don't know how long I will stay away from it. Honestly, that girl terrifies me. I guess that insane are naturally intimidating...
