general appearance
Hermione's hair is one of her most prominent features, often considered large and busy, her brown locks are proven time and time again to be untameable. She often wears it in a bun at the nape of her neck, and has the convenient tendency to use her wand to hold her hair half-hazardly in place. Hermione's eyes are a pale brown, and, combined with the matching mop of hair atop her head, they help to emphasize the paleness of her skin. Her body is thin to the point of petiteness, though her weight is still a forbidden subject that should not be brought up unless you don't value particular apendages. However, that means little to nothing, as her other feminine assets are average, in her opinion. If they were of anything impressive, Ron would have noticed them by now (lol sorry had to add that little barb)- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boggart,
The battle at the Department of Mysteries. It was the first time she'd ever truly been afraid for her life, and the first time she'd ever seen someone die. Not only had she harbored strong, hidden feelings for her best friend's godfather, but she had been surprized by the fear and almost physical pain the loss had given her. She blames herself for not being able to protect him, to get him away from the Veil before he fell through. The memory of his surprised face as he fell through the archway and disappeared has haunted Hermione's guilt-ridden mind ever since.

overall personality, Hermione has often been told that she was "the brightest witch of her age", and she has always served to prove that observation time and taime again. Often considered bossy by both friends and enemies, Hermione has a tendency to fret, worry, and nag others when they are not living up to their potential, and/or misbehaving or acting immature in general. She is always there to knock Ron and Harry down a peg or two when they need it, and studies meticulously, easily earning her top scores in all of her classes. She is the living contradiction to Pureblood's prejudices towards Muggleborns, and, sympathizing with other magical beings who have been persecuted by members of the Pureblood aristocracy, is seen as a fighter for the underdog, always defending those who have no voice to protest agains the status quo.
Hermione has a brilliant mind. She has memorized many, many spells and can reason her way through difficult situations that stump everyone else. Hermione reads voraciously and prefers concrete, knowable subjects like runes and history to the more inexact subjects like divination. When she was new to Hogwarts she was very insecure so she took comfort in things like rules and book-learning; as she became more confident in magic and more comfortable in the Wizarding world, she relaxed – somewhat.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

overall history,
Hermione was born to two Muggle dentists on September 19, 1979. When she recieved her letter from Hogwarts, she was already a year ahead of her other pupils in Muggle school, though she and her parents were more excited over the news of her "gifts" then anything. She recalls her mother telling her that she always knew there was something special about her, and that it wasn't until McGonnagal showed up on her doorstep that she knew why. When she was new to Hogwarts she was very insecure so she took comfort in things like rules and book-learning, though, as time went on, she developed a very close friendship with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, who she had clashed with earlier in her First Year. Ever since, she's been getting them out of trouble and saving their skins when on one of their crazy adventures. As she became more confident in magic and more comfortable in the Wizarding world, she relaxed – somewhat.
During her Second Year, the lengths of the Golden Trio's friendship was stronger than ever. With Hermione's conviction that Harry was not the Heir of Slytherin - as many so previously claimed - she discovered what the monster in the chamber was, and was able to help Harry unravel the mystery behind it, despite being petrified herself for the most part of the year. In their Third Year, however, Harry, Ron and Hermione's friendship would be put to the test. As Hermione constantly defended her pet cat/part-kneazle, Crookshanks from Ron, she also experienced the loss of both of her friends as a result of her worry for them. She had "betrayed" Harry in his eyes when she reported the Firebolt to McGonnagal in order to make sure it was safe, and was a constant victim of Ron's harsh barbs regarding her and her cat. In the end, though, Hermione was right in many ways. She discovered Professor Lupin's secret early on in the year, but kept it a secret - as she knew he could help his condition, and partly due to a crush she had been developing for the lycanthrope - and helped Harry to save Sirius and Buckbeak's - Hagrid's Hippogriff - lives by using the Time Turner Professor McGonnagal had given her earlier in the year to make it to all of her classes. As a result of the use of her time-turner, she is nearly another year older than Harry and Ron.
In the Trio's Fourth Year, Hermione's need to fight for the underdog began to truly make its appearance, though nothing ever came from her organization S.P.E.W., she continued to research and find ways to help the House Elves fight against slavery, knitting them socks so that they could be freed. She was helpless when Ron and Harry fought during the Triwizard Tournament. She knew that it wasn't Harry's fault that his name had come out of the Goblet of Fire, but did not want to lose either of their friendship. She helped him as best as she could throughout the tournament, but she had other matters to address. Victor Krum, for example, had noticed her as something more than just "one of the guys" when he arrived, and she could not deny the pleasure she felt at being addressed as a proper lady. Harry and Ron infuriated her when they assumed she had no date to the Yule Ball, and surprised them when she arrived to the Ball on the arm of the Bulgarian seeker. Besides those exciting activities, she is proud to admit that Fourth Year brought her newer, straighter teeth.
Hermione has a brilliant mind. She has memorized many, many spells and can reason her way through difficult situations that stump everyone else. By her fifth year, she could cast a Protean Charm -- N.E.W.T standard magic. In her fifth year, she brought the idea to Harry to start Dumbledore's Army to teach fellow students how to defends themselves, she accompanied Dumbledore's Army to the Ministry of Magic to fight. She became an active participant in the rebellion against Dolores Jane Umbridge, a vile toad of a woman that did nothing to teach the students, and everything to stifle their intellectual growth, everything that Hermione stands against. She was the one to try and tell Harry that Voldemort was possibly using their mental connection as a tool in order to harm him, but he didn't listen. So she, along with a few others, followed him to the Department of Mysteries, and helped to keep Voldemort's Death Eaters from retrieving a rather disturbing prophecy regarding Harry and the Dark Lord. Unfortunately, not all members of the fight emerged unscathed. During the summer before her Fifth Year, Hermione had developed a bit of a fancy for Harry's godfather, Sirius, and, despite their disagreements in regards to his house elf, Kreacher, she couldn't deny that he was an admirable man. He had died that night in the Department of Mysteries at Bellatrix Lestrange's hand, falling through the mysterious veil, never to be seen again. All those who knew him - save Snape, possibly - mourned his loss deeply.
Hermione is now starting her Sixth Year, and as she is presented with this mystery of time surrounding herself and her peers, she is anxious to find the meaning of it, as well as a solution. Until then, she will try to find some way to deal with her current predicament, and survive relatively unscathed.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

roleplay sample. [[Sorry, it's really long lol]]Kacie felt Sirius' hands clench into fists as he held her. Softly, he sighed. He moved away from her and then plopped down on the ground, looking almost as exhausted as she felt. Even in this state, she could not help but admire him. The line of his jaw, the form of his brow, the light in his eyes...it was all too overwhelming to bear, and yet, she found she could not look away. When Sirius grabbed, she most certainly was not expecting it, letting out a surprisingly girlish sound of surprise. When she felt his body beneath hers, cushioning the fall, she proceeded to laugh, clutching her sides in an attempt to ease the growing pain in her ribs. She didn't know why she found it so funny, yet she did. When he wrapped his arms around her tightly, she leaned into his embrace with a contented smile. "Then, I will forgive you for both of our sakes." He touched his nose to hers, smiling widely as he did so. She grinned back with a hint of mischief and invitation. As if sensing his mental dilema, she turned in his arms, wrapping her own around his neck as she pressed her lips against his jaw, just below his ear. She understood what he was trying to portray, and as she stared into his silver eyes, she hoped that he would understand the silent words in her own.
I wish I deserved someone as wonderful as you.
Kacie's eyes fluttered in surprise as she felt Sirius' lips against her own. Before she really had the chance to react to this sudden display of affection, he had pulled away. Though it was brief, that fleeting kiss had left her with a gradually racing heart, and she felt herself flush from head to foot. Smirking, he muttered, "Should you expect anything less, my love?" She grinned impishly at him, tapping the tip of his nose with her finger as she replied, “Of course not, my dear.” He reached out and ran his fingers along her smooth porcelain skin, and she shivered, relishing the touch. When she suddenly proclaimed that she was no hypocrite, the silver pools on Sirius Black's face twisted with furious anger. "BUT YOU ARE, KACIE! Damn it! You are as stubborn as I am! Can't you realize that is why we always argue?" “You're not understanding me!” She replied in agitation, “I know I'm not perfect! I accept that, Sirius. That does not make me a hypocrite. I only told you how you are because you wanted to know, not because I believe that I'm not the same way. Don't you dare call me a hypocrite for stating the obvious about the both of us.” He glared at her when she spoke of him as childish, but it was to be expected. She knew that Sirius hated any statement referting to him in a way that caused a blow to his ego. His next words struck her like a whip: "At least I am not selfish." Clenching her teeth in order to stop herself from saying something she knew she would regret, she turned her gaze away from him, biting her lower lip in order to distract from the pain his words had caused. Taking a deep breath, she looked him in the eyes once more, cursing herself for not concealing her emotions as effectively as she was once able to. “I won't deny that,” she replied, though her voice came close to cracking at the last word, “I am very selfish. But I would never change that about myself. If I wasn't selfish, my father would still be alive, and Thomas would have died much sooner. I wouldn't have even bothered with you if I were selfless, and maybe I would have been able to keep the Slytherin facade for a bit longer. So yes, Sirius, I am selfish. But at least I'm selfish for the right reasons.” Her words were cold, formal, and very blunt. Her eyes stung, yet she refused to allow another tear to escape in front of this man. She had learned many years ago that tears and secrets shared were signs of weakness, and he had just proven that fact to her. Blinking rapidly, Sirius moved his hands down behind her back, soothing the sudden lick of pain, and pushed himself against her so that she didn't have to feel the pain. He sighed loudly after she spoke. "And it doesn't give you the right to throw what you think are my faults in my face constantly. I KNOW DAMN WELL WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT'S WHY I HATE MYSELF SO MUCH? MY FAULTS ARE WHAT ARE KEEPING REGULUS AWAY FROM ME!" He took a deep breath, looking regretful of what he had just said. Frowning, Kacie rested her forehead against Sirius', and she ran one of her hands through his hair softly in an attempt to sooth him. “I'm sorry,” she apologized, “I shouldn't have said anything. And you have no reason to hate yourself, Sirius. Regulus may be scared, but the door does swing both ways. Believe me, I've told him so myself a few times. It's not your fault.” "I don't know how," he whispered solemnly, resting his forehead against hers. She didn't comment on the tears she saw in his eyes, instead replying, “Then we can learn how together.” He simply smirked when she said not to compare this to Lily and James. He nodded, yet he still refused to say anything, confusion evident in his gaze. However, he frowned at her last statement. "But, he shouldn't be around them. He should have known that I would never talk to him with those damned Slytherthings around." His voice was riddled with disgust, but he looked to be trying to keep his temper in check. Repressing a sigh, she decided against informing him of his brother's one attempt. It hadn't been long after Sirius had run away, and the boy had tried to speak to his brother alone, but found it harder than he thought it was worth, considering the company that constantly surrounded Sirius during that time. "He defended you?" Kacie nodded, “As much as he could, without drawing unwanted attention to himself,” she said, “His exact words, I believe, were 'Leave her alone before you stain the carpet'.” She smirked, hoping that he understood that Regulus had only been saying what would get through to the Slytherins. She had actually gotten along with the boy for awhile, to the point where she hoped that her influence in his life would help him choose the right path before it was too late. He had saved her life that night, with that one sentence anyone else would find insulting beyond measure. The ivory wolf grinned at the black dog's smile. She let out a yip as she sped up, a silent, playful taunt. If she were human, she would have smirked in satisfaction at Sirius' irritated barks. She slowed down some, allowing him to catch up. As he reached her side, he was snorting with laughter. With a mental smirk, she stopped in her tracks, watching the dog before her in amusement.
As Sirius softly fluttered his lashes at her, and she smirked in amusement and flirtation. He moved closer to her, keeping his gaze on her strong as he took her hand in his and twirled her around before catching her in his arms, causing her to chuckle in delight. With his most velvet tone, he murmured, "How about we go somewhere more---" He paused for a moment, moving his lips to her ear, and she resisted the urge to shudder as goosebumps rose on her arms at his sudden proximity. "Private?" His voice was a purr, full of passion and desire. She swallowed, unsure as to whether he was really kidding this time or not. She knew that she loved him, knew that she was ready, but was he? Deciding to give him the ultimate choice, she pressed her lips to his in a searing kiss. He clenched his jaw at her question and shook his head very slightly, and she resisted the urge to tell him anyway. It was a burden to know such a thing, and, as much as she wanted to ease her shoulders the weight of that knowledge, she did not want to relinquish it to him. He had already been through enough in his life without her saying things to make it worse. He looked at her suddenly, terror the dominant emotion in his eyes. He reached out and touched her face, tracing her skin with his fingertips. Confused, she asked, “You alright, love?” He wiped away the tear and gave her a tender smile, yet said nothing. He didn't need to. His presence alone was enough. She felt him move closer and wrap his arms around her from behind, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry, love, I was just trying to prove a point. I didn't mean to hurt you like that." Hating herself for being so touchy over a word, but he didn't know how hard it was. Being in Slytherin house, having to hide her true heritage while biting her tongue when they insulted Muggle-borns at the same time took it's toll on her. She didn't want to have to hear it anymore than she'd already had to, didn't want to have to hear someone as important to her as Sirius to speak it, even in disdain. Relaxing in his arms, she closed her eyes, and forced herself to forget it. It would do no good to cling to something as petty as an insult. Guffawing loudly, Sirius stared at her with an insurmountable joy. "I'm not cut out to be a father, Kacie. I think I'll stick with playing with James's and Lily's kids. And maybe even Remus's, if he has the nerve to talk to a female." Kacie smiled fondly at him in response. Despite his protests, she really did think that he would make an excellent father one day. The loyalty he held towards his friends, and the gentleness he portrayed in her most vulnerable moments had proven that. Sirius chuckled when she pointed out the star he had probably been named after. Smirking, he muttered, "My parents probably named me that because they think we belong in the stars!" He guffawed loudly. She smiled. “Yes, that may be true, but it's not the way I see it.” She replied. He looked back at her when he saw her turn her head. They stared at each other for an unmeasurable amount of time, and, for the first time in awhile, she felt utterly content. Relaxed. At home.
Sirius raised an eyebrow at her words. Frowning, he whispered, "How could you be so hopeful for a pureblood maniac like Berkeley? Her family is very proper, Kacie. I doubt they would let her change. If they are just like my parents, they would give up on her, too. How could you be so sure that she wouldn't do the same things she's been doing?" Knowing that he would most likely be unhappy with what she was about to say, she sighed. “Despite the situation she's been in, she's the closest thing to an aquaintence I've met in Slytherin. I think that, with the right person there to guide her, to help her, she can branch away from that lifestyle. I wish you wouldn't give up hope on her so easily.” Sirius nodded at her words and then captured her face in his hands. "No one is going to kill you, Kacie. I shall protect you from this day forth. Not one day will you spend away from me. And if that day comes and one of us . . . dies---we shall avenge the other until we too have died." Feeling her eyes sting at the thought of losing him, she nodded in response, not trusting herself to speak. They both knew what grief could do to them. Kacie would likely go insane with sorrow at the loss of Sirius, taking down anyone and anything that stood in her path to retribution on the way. He pressed his lips to hers hungrily, as if trying to explain something crucial to her. She kissed him back just as passionately, conveying just how much she loved him in that one moment. "Either way, we'll always be together. No matter what happens to one of us, the other will always be them. I shall never love any other woman, Kacie. You are my one true love. Nothing can change that." Chuckling, she whispered, “How is it that you say the most charming things in situations like this, when I can barely form a coherent sentence when you're around?” He flashed her a handsome smile, kissing her mouth once more. Sighing, he pulled her to him, and she took this opportunity to press a kiss to his jaw, whispering, “No one else will ever be as important to me as you are, Sirius. I can't imagine a life with anyone else.” He tightened his grip on her when she spoke her last words. "You know that I would have stayed there forever with you, right?" With a sad smile, she agreed. “Yeah, I do. I only wish I had been in the right frame of mind to remember it then.” He kissed the top of her head, holding her close. Grabbing her face, he ran his fingers through her hair and then pressed his lips to hers once more, not breaking the embrace. Her hands instinctively wound themselves in his hair, tugging, pulling him closer. As he smiled against her mouth, she could not stop her own smirk from making an appearance. Her stomach fluttered in hesitation and anticipation, a flurry of emotions flashing through her mind. When her legs wrapped around his waist, he moved his hands to her bottom, holding her so that she didn't have to worry about falling, and her smirk against his mouth as they kissed grew to a full-blown grin. She hid her face in his neck, nuzzling him there and nipping at the skin as she hid both her smile and her blush. Then, breaking off the kiss for a fragment of a second, he smiled.
"Do you want me?"
Without hesitation, she moved her mouth to his ear, and murmured, “More than you know.”- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
