WHEN YOU CALL ON ME
the appearance
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
hair color, Light brown
eye color, Milky white
height, 5’2”
weight, 120 lbs
general appearance Diana’s most distinctive trait is the first thing most people notice about her- her eyes are a milky white, cloudy and glazed over due to blindness. Diana can sometimes see light sources, or hazy outlines of color around certain individuals, but this is the extent of her vision. Her pupils and irises are still visible, but are varying shades of gray and white.
Apart from her eyes, Diana is quite pretty- she has wavy light brown hair that grows past her shoulders by a few inches, normally kept down, or out of her face with hair clips. She has a strong, long nose, and her eyebrows are closer to her eyes than usual. The bridge of her nose is sprinkled with freckles, which offset her olive-colored skin. Her chin tapers to a narrow point, and her mouth is a delicate shade of pink. Although her blindness keeps her from being able to use much makeup, her older sister taught her a spell that would automatically do the job for her- Diana’s usual choice in makeup is dark gray eyeliner and mascara. Diana’s build is middling- she is neither fat nor particularly skinny, being often described as somewhat slim. She has longer fingers than some, and is blessed with sunburn-proof skin. Shorter than most of her classmates, Diana relies on a haughty air and lifting her chin high to keep respect.
While at Hogwarts, Diana doesn’t often change out of the uniform, which she keeps in pristine condition. However, her next choice in clothing is generally sophisticated- stylish dresses and elegant jeans. She does have a fondness for a tartan newsboy hat and matching pea coat, however. In terms of color, it matters very little to the blind girl. She usually just goes with black or white, occasionally venturing into the realm of slate blue with the help of her older sister.
Diana is constantly accompanied and guided by her cane- a long black one with a dark green tip. Although there are certain spells and potions that could help her to find her way without the cane, Diana uses it anyway- mainly from pride. She taps it from side to side when she walks to keep her from running into anything or anyone, though navigating through Hogwarts’ more crowded hallways is difficult for her. Her bag is a black messenger bag, usually filled with books and bits of parchment. Her wand is kept in a small sheath on her belt, fixed on her left side so she can easily get to it with her right hand. It is carved with a number of intricate swirls, more interesting to feel than to look at. Diana has a liking for jewelry, especially rings- her usual choice in rings is small, but expensive-looking. She does have pierced ears, and dislikes wearing necklaces- except for one. The necklace in question is a simple silver chain with a ring threaded on, the chain long enough to tuck down under her shirt. The ring is also silver, with seven tiny moonstones set in the band. Diana hides the chain and ring under her clothes, but never takes it off.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

overall personality, Insecure, arrogant, and slightly anti-social, Diana is a typical Slytherin, albeit a very quiet one. She keeps mainly to herself, embarrassed about her disability. Although she has her mother’s exotic Russian beauty, Diana’s haughty attitude keeps her from being close friends with anyone. She prefers books to boys, ancient texts to animals, and parchment to people. Diana’s hunger for information has exhausted a great deal of the Hogwarts library. She spends a great deal of her time inside, keeping her skin pale, though she can’t escape her natural freckles. Diana is expert on magical theory, keeping her better informed about the differences between magical people and Muggles than most. Despite this, she still harbors a strong, stereotypically pureblood prejudice against Muggles and Mudbloods. Diana is capable of making friends with Mudbloods- if she likes a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw, she will not ask about their blood, believing that what she doesn't know won't hurt her. Volunteering information about your blood is not the best way to make friends with Diana.
Diana’s initial arrogance and haughty attitude come from embarrassment about her blindness- she dislikes being at any sort of disadvantage to normal witches and wizards. She reserves a special hatred for anyone who tries to coddle her or “help” her, constantly battling to prove that she can look after herself. The ultimate sign of trust and friendship for Diana is allowing a friend to guide her. Apart from this, Diana is extremely independent, extremely stubborn, and extremely used to having her own way. Her family’s wealth and status is something both she and her sister take for granted- while Diana dislikes shopping herself, she enjoys having new things.
Music soothes the savage beast, and Diana is no exception. If the proud Slytherin has a weak spot, it is in her love of piano. She enjoys both listening to and playing music, reading and memorizing Braille sheet music faster than most musicians can memorize visual sheet music. Her uncle Dmitri taught her to play at a young age, and she has loved the sound of her piano ever since- at the family house, Diana owns and cherishes her very own Steinway Grand. Her excellent hearing comes in handy for her music, and though she is reluctant to share her gift with anyone else, she will sometimes summon pianos when the Common Room is empty. She has displayed an interest in composition, though thus far she does not have the inspiration to write a piece.
Although usually sight is necessary for Divination, Diana is unique in that she has Sight despite her blindness. Her gift leaves her with vague impressions and feelings rather than images, and most of her readings are done via tarot cards and palmistry, though she occasionally will get flashes of color and feelings from crystal balls. She also takes Arithmancy, and is rather good at both. This is perhaps the most surprising aspect of Diana's personality, given her love of solid facts. She flat-out refuses to read her own future, as her belief in having choices is something she will never give up. However, she sometimes reads the fortunes of others.
Diana’s blindness and independent air make it difficult for boys to talk to her, despite her good looks. She has a habit of brushing them off as soon as they begin speaking to her- although she knows from her sister how to talk to boys, she is often too shy and too insecure to respond. Only the most persistent of flirts stand a decent chance with Diana, and once her loyalty and trust is gained, it is not easily shaken loose.
Diana’s wish for regaining her sight could lead her to become a Healer, or, a far more likely option, to join Lord Voldemort’s ranks. Rumors of his miraculous powers have circulated throughout the Wizarding community, leading Diana to wonder if he could heal her eyes. In exchange, she is fully prepared to hand over her knowledge about the inner workings of magic, her theories about new, more powerful magic, and her interest in Wizarding history. While her blindness keeps her from being a dangerous duelist, Diana is capable of defending herself, and agrees with a great deal of the Dark Lord’s ideas.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
WHEN YOU BLESS THE DAY

father &family, Leonardo Nathaniel Hunter, Slytherin, Pure-blood, parents Leonardo Christopher Hunter, Slytherin, Amelianna Rae Baessler, Hufflepuff
siblings, Georgiana Delia Hunter, 21, former Slytherin
overall history, Diana has both English and Russian blood, her mother’s family hailing from St. Petersburg originally, and moving to London after the Second World War, where all three Fyodorovs attended Hogwarts in the fall. Elizabeta met Leonardo during their sixth year, and the two quickly fell in love. Their first daughter, Georgiana Delia, took after her father’s English looks and mannerisms- Diana, who came five years after her sister, seemed to mirror her mother’s heritage more closely. In terms of personality, however, she took after her uncle Dmitri, who taught her to play piano at an early age.
Diana’s blindness was the result of her own curious nature as a little girl, one that was stifled after the accident occurred. At age five, Diana got hold of her mother’s wand, and, pointing it at her own face, somehow managed to set off bright violet sparks. She was rushed to St. Mungo’s immediately, but the damage was irreversible; she became permanently blinded. Over the next few years, Diana learned to read Braille until she could read faster than she could before, to use a cane to navigate, and how to use her hearing to help her get around. While Georgiana was home from school, she doted on her younger sister, taking her out on shopping trips and buying her piano music. This in itself is possibly the most incredible- Diana’s love of playing piano continued even after her accident, leading her to master the instrument blind, learning to play by ear and by memorizing Braille sheet music. However, her arrival at Hogwarts limited her access to the instrument, though she still enjoys conjuring grand pianos when she is alone.
At age eleven, Diana followed the majority of her family into Slytherin House, and quickly establishing the traditional prejudice against Gryffindors and Muggle-borns. Hogwarts had an interesting influence on Diana- her disability limited her abilities to perform charms and spells, and she grew easily frustrated with Potions. She returned to Hogwarts after the Christmas holiday of her first year more determined than ever to succeed, mastering a variety of charms to help her read, translate text into Braille, and practice magic. She is expert at the Accio Charm, using it in Potions to summon the correct ingredients instead of fishing about for them. Despite the obvious difficulties, Diana learned wand movements and other visual spells by asking her classmates and teachers if she was doing it correctly, quickly establishing herself as a gifted, slightly dangerous witch. Also during her first year, Diana and the rest of the first-years took broomstick lessons; Diana attended only one, which went disastrously and landed her in Hospital Wing for a week, with a broken wrist and three cracked ribs. She has not attempted flight since.
During her second year, Diana was introduced to magical theory, a subject which greatly appealed to her. She began to devote long periods of time to independent study in the library, learning about the ideas behind magic- how it works, how spells and potions are invented, and other ways to channel magic. Eventually she stumbled upon magical healing. Diana took especial interest in this topic for obvious reasons, convinced that somewhere in the Hogwarts library was the key to restoring her sight. She continued her search throughout her third, fourth and fifth years, slowly working her way through the whole of the Magical Theory section.
Sometime during her third year, Diana discovered that she had a small amount of ability for Divination, inheriting Sight from her mother's side of the family. Diana flatly refuses to read her own fortune or future, preferring to believe she can make her own choices about her future. However, she sometimes offers to read palms for friends- her predictions are vague, usually dealing with emotions and feelings rather than specific events.
During her fourth year, Diana's relationship with an old friend took a turn- though whether it was for the better or worse depends on who you ask. Without telling either of their families or friends, Diana and Elijah Jammison began dating- but as Elijah grew more and more protective of her, putting limits she did not like on her freedom, Diana grew more restless. The relationship finally ended when Diana suggested they take a break, although at times she regrets having done so.
Her reputation for being skilled and not to be crossed didn’t disappear, but sank to the background as she became shyer and shyer, spending more time with books than people. By the time she began sixth year, Diana was smart, skilled, and exceptionally beautiful, though her anti-social habits and haughtiness distanced her from close friendships.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
