Alice woke up the morning after the Masquerade Ball. It technically wasn’t morning, but more like mid-afternoon. But she needed all that sleep after what happened the past night. Her head was pounding loud. She felt like crap. There was just so much, how could so much drama pack up it one night. At first it seemed as if it would be a fun night. She had met Harper, Lily had arrived. She then saw Emmy. Then she met James cousin, Harry. He seemed like a nice guy, really sweet. But being her usual over analytic self she noticed his eyes. He had eyes that matched Lily’s. It was suspicious but Alice didn’t bother putting much thought into it. More than one person probably had Green eyes.
Most of her thoughts was on the events of the night before. Lily yelling at Snape. Sure, Alice wouldn’t have minded if it was anywhere else, but she was embarrassing herself. She would only cause more pain. It wasn’t helping anyone. And Harry was so confused. He didn’t know anything about the past between Lily and Severus. Something that he had a right to know. She had to make sure he didn’t tell Lily that she told him. She wasn’t sure if Lils wanted anyone to know. But she did promise Harry and she always kept a promise. No matter what the consequences were. But after the fight she didn't remember much of anything. Just drinking some punch, maybe something about ponies? Ponies, where did that come from? she thought to herself confused and shook her head getting her pounding brain off it.
She walked into the Common room. She was in her pajamas, her hair in two braids. The Common Room was completely empty. She took a seat on the couch. She layed back and closed her eyes. When she woke up in the morning Lily wasn't there. And the night before she was asleep by the time Alice got in. So they didn't have a chance to talk. Or maybe they did, after all Alice didn't remember much of what happened after all that yelling. Who knew, honestly she was sure it would come back to her. But still, she should’ve done more to stop what happened last night. It was her fault. She should’ve never let Lily go to that point. She was her best friend. It was her job to protect her and she failed. She was such a horrible friend. Lily would’ve never let her break to that point. She blinked and found a tear race down her cheek. She wiped it on her sleeve. She couldn’t cry, it made her seem even more weak than she was.

Harry just wanted to die and go to heaven or whatever the afterlife was. He couldn't remember much from the night before, and his head felt as though someone was repeatedly stabbing his head with a knife or something. The night before was fuzzy and he remembered a few things. Some things he didn't want to remember. Ever.
But he also remembered Lily and her being upset about Snape. That sealed his want to kill Snape. He knew he wouldn't actually kill Snape, just made him want to. He had no clue what was going on. All he knew is that Lily disliked his father before, and defended the greasy boy when he was younger, and he insulted her. She couldn't be so upset about one time. Which led Harry to think that it happened more than once. If he found out that Snape did anything extreme to her, like attack her several times, or something like that... Snape wouldn't want to be around him for a few minutes.
Dumbledore trusted Snape. Harry didn't. Nothing would change that in his mind. Harry was extremely protective over Lily and wouldn't let Snape hurt her anymore. It was just so confusing because Harry had no idea what was going on. Was Snape someone his mother trusted? Nah, no sane person would, especially since her husband to be always picked on him. Harry shoved that idea out of his head. Speaking of his head, the pain remained but lessened as he lay in bed. He suddenly remembered Alice had told him that she would tell him everything. Not only that he remembered that Malfoy had given his probation or something like that for something he was doing last night. Still foggy on the details.
He hurried down the stairs nearly falling with the hugely loud sound his feet were making. Trying to ignore it he went down all of the way, and saw Alice there. He approached, and as he watched her, he couldn't help but think something was familiar about her. Something he recognized. He thought of all the parents he knew about and the only one he knew had her name was Alice Longbottom. Was she... Harry still wasn't sure and tried to push it away.
"Alice, hi," Harry said wincing at the loudness of his voice. Perhaps he should go to the nurse... No not yet. He had to know what was going on with Snape, so he could hate him with more cause.

Alice managed to stop feeling sorry for herself. She knew it wasn't her fault, it was barely her fault. Sure, she should've done more. But the blame belonged on Lily and Snape. Poor Lily was all emotional but she did have fault. She should've tried harder to keep her cool. To realize that Snape wasn't even worth it. Alice understood why it hurt for Lily but she had to get over the past and look to the future. Snape wasn't someone Lily should have in her life. Alice felt horrible and mean for even thinking it but it was completely true. If he didn't treat Lily well and only caused her pain then she would be much better off without him. But Alice knew a lot better than to state that to Lily, especially after what happened the night before. She had to give time for things to heal before suggesting it so Lily wouldn't take it the wrong way.
Alice snapped out of her thoughts immediatly hearing footsteps. Normally she wouldn't notice but with this huge headache gave her intense hearing that hurt her head. She closed her eyes cringing a bit with each step being taken. She hoped it would be someone who she could tolerate. She heard her name and looked up immediatly to see Harry Potter. She did cringe a bit at the loudness in his voice. She would go to the nurse but that would lead to questions and answers that she didn't want to be given. If someone found out she drank spiked punch she would be in trouble, even if she wasn't aware that it was spiked at that moment in time.
She offered him a soft smile. "Hi Harry." she said her voice barely a whisper. "Sorry my head is pounding. Were you aware that the punch from last night was spiked?" she asked him. She wondered if he had figured it out yet. He didn't seem aware when he gave out drinks to the group. She wondered if he remembered anything from that night. He remembered enough to know her name. If he remembered her name did that mean he remembered that promise she made to explain to him the sad and tragic lost friendship of Lily Evans and Severus Snape. That would make a good title for a book... she thought to herself with a small smile. She would have to remember that if she ever decided that she wanted to be a famous author in either the muggle or magic world.
She pulled her legs to her chest and rested her chin on her kneecaps, giving room on the couch for another person. "So, Mister Potter, would you care to join me?" she asked with a small chuckle trying to lighten the mood. After what happened she needed a smile to make things seem somewhat normal for once in her life. Because in all honesty she was sick of all the drama which would probably never end.
