You had to be blind not to notie that; to be completely and utterly ignorant of the people who darted out of his way as the blond boy stalked down the corridor. Stalked. Yes, Draco Malfoy was stalking, his eyes steely and focussed straight ahead and ignoring every whisper.
He had falling back into automatic mode. What he wanted, really wanted, was someone else to order around. Someone to keep wands being pointed at his back because Draco was a bit of a coward. More than a bit. Nothing had happened hre, yet, of course, but he was slightly wary now.
Being perfectly capable and in fact, more than capable than most others to walk through these halls in the same path as him, when it comes to magic, but physical confrontations, such as the ones that the muggleborn, mudblood filth which also walked these halls. The confrontations that they were so eager to dispatch and engage in...
Well, Draco did not understand them. Being hit was bad, he knew that. He did not exactly know how to hit back, and didn't much want to bother finding out. Walking through the crowds of people with a don't touch me, bad mood exteriour was the initial form of self defence which was, admittedly...automatic.
And it gave him time to think. Thinking...though, not his favourite activity of late, seeing as it usually led to nightmares and him having to seal his bed curtains with Silencio to stop other people knowing about the nightmares. It wasn't his fault. He had settled in here until he had caught that brief glimpse of a certain blond man. Now...
He wasn't faking the angry mood. He seemed to be constantly angry and upset and irritated. Acting was not required to transmit that across.
Draco moved further down the corridor, eyes fixed a head and quite happy to step on the toes of the little students who did not get out of his way. He may be a Malfoy dragged away from his kingdom and left with nothing to his name, beyond that which was beying claimed by Lucius...but his superioty complex had certainly not been damaged. Why should it have been? He even took quite a bit of pirde in being able to shove slightly taller people out of his way as he rounded a corner and stepped out into the courtyard. The courtyard...was a nice place to be. He was sure of that.

- - - SHE SCRATCHED AT the fabric that covered her shoulder, wrinkling her nose as she found the fabric to be scratchy and much different from the present uniform that they adorned. sighing softly, she pulled at the hem of the dress that she had to wear since it was the current time period uniform but ginny wished that it was not so itchy. the fabric was rubbing against her skin, even though the under t-shirt that was wearing. grumbling, she walked down the halls with a certain grace about her. being one of the only girls in her family, ginny had learned how to walk by not following her brothers and so with her shoulders squared, her head high and proudly wearing the gryffindor cloak, she moved down the hallway intent on studying in the courtyard before her charms class. she scratched at her shoulder once more, moving her nails to scrape against her nails at the itchy fabric caught a piece of skin. ”bloody hell.” she muttered, passing people in the hallway that were none to familiar. ginny sighed as she glanced up the faces, hoping for a familiar, and a friendly face to confide it but she found nothing in the sea of people as they bumped into her, moved around her or completely ignored her. she nodded to a few fellow lions, at least smiling to the returned gesture as she made her way down the grand steps. it was a quiet, calm day from what ginny could gather. the clouds were white and fluffy, the air was crisp but warm and maybe, just maybe this would be a good day for her. she had been spending most of her time in the library, copying one of her good friends in her actions, in order to research and uncover how and why she was thrown back into this time period but had of course came up short of an answer. she felt like there had to be a purpose, a reason for the time skip but none was coming to mind. ginny was walking on egg shells when she spoke to people, not knowing or not wanting to tamper with the future anymore than they presence already were. just speaking to alice or sirus had to have some repercussion on the future. she was careful not to reveal even too much about herself, not knowing what the consequence will be for those that were left in the nineteen nineties. she just hoped that they were safe, with the rising of you-know-who, ginny worried. of course, he was rising to power in this era as well and that was worrisome as well. killing him now would do so much good for the future, save lily, james, sirius, alice and anyone else that had to face the dark lord’s wrath in one or another. for now though, ginny kept the time skip secret to herself and tried to keep her head ducked down when it came to details about where they had come from. she had found a nice bench to sit on, the sun was shining down on the courtyard and allowed the evergreen undergrowth to look even brighter, more lively. the students seemed happy as well as they bustled around, crossing the courtyard to shuffle from class to class. she placed a book on her lap, opening it and crossing her ankles, scooting them under the bench. she flipped through the pages, her eyes brows furrowed at the knowledge that she was supposed to be taking in and flicked her wand out of the pocket of her robes. she did not say an incantation but she mimicked the motions that were laid out in the book. her wand swooped up and down and she thought the words, and after a few moments, she picked her head up and her brown eyes widened just a little. draco. he was strolling across the courtyard. she recalled their last encounter not being the most friendly of them as she had hexed him with one of her more powerful spells. her eyes narrowed, shutting the book and standing up, ”you!” she called, moving closer towards him in a stride. students around them picked up their heads, but ginny ignored them, her anger suddenly boiling, you’re here too!? i actually have to deal with you, here..!?” she asked, her wand still in her hand and the grip on it becoming that much tighter. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,background-image:url(http://www.photofurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/green_and_white_wallpaper.jpg); width: 345px; height: 265px; border:3px solid slategray; moz-radius: 1em 4em; border-radius: 1em 4em; opacity: 0.9;] burn you to the ground BUT DON'T DRAG ME DOWN WITH YOU There was one major flaw in the plan of walking straight forward with his eyes fixed on a point before him; while projecting an icy stay away from me air, was that the automatic function did not allow him to actually pay attention to anything else going on around him. And while (in a mood such as he was in now, where any small thing could have sparked the ice to cascade into an avalanche and landed more than one person in either detention or the hospital wing) he did not wish to pay attention to the going's on around him, it was something that could be considered a weakness. Especially in moments such as this, where the arrival of someone he did not wish to meet (in fact, someone he wished had never been born, because that family would not have missed her) was only announced by the shocked, injust cry of You.
The words made him jump more than anything, even if to a Malfoy a jump was a mere twitch of the eye, flicking his gaze in the direction of the voice. But when he realised that the shrill, irritating shriek had been directed at him, the blonde boy turned slowly, elegant boots making no sound as he pivoted to face her. For it was her. The redheaded little Weaselette. "Me? Yes, I appears so."
Could his time here not get any worse? Not only was Potter here, but the little leader of his fan club had also been fortunate enough to enter into this madness. Not that this place was so bad. It was strange, but oddly refreshing to be able to spend time around his family, his extended family (even if they both didn't know and didn't trust where he had come from), including his beloved mother, without the confines of Azkaban turning half of them into raving lunatics.
He let out a derisive sniff as he finally came to a halt on his small picot, facing her and drawing himself up slightly taller (than the boots made him seem anyway), tossing his head once to move his hair out of his eyes. The gel that was around in this time was utterly hideous, he had found. It had made his usually baby fine hair feel like straw. He had used it once and then never again, preferring to comb it and let it fall loose rather than messing it up by attempting to use a too cheap product to move it back. It was irritating though...he wasn't that fond of it.
I actually have to deal with you, here...those were the words which had led to the sniff. "Oh, please, Weaselette. If anything, I have to deal with you. The job of the rich is always to look out for charity, after all." His tone betrayed the fact that he was suprised to see her, but really, she did not matter to him. Seeing people here who affected him more, that had brought suprise from the cold exteriour of the Malfoy heir, but not her. Not a poor little blood traitor. Still, his hand had slipped inside his robes, piano-playing fingers curling around the hilt of his wand. Just in case.
This one had brought humiliation to him, after all, he suddenly remembered. The bat-bogies...he shuddered at the memory, but it was enough to bring his wand slightly into view. Just enough for her. He did not care for the audience they were collecting either. "You should walk on. I do not wish to have to scrape you off my shoe. You might dirty them with your tainted blood."

- - - IF DRACO MALFOY , was here, ginny wondered who else had gone back in time with her. or maybe because draco was standing before her, it could have been a nightmare. ginny had never actually fathomed that idea until this moment, she voiced her thoughts a little too loudly but was more musing to herself as she tilted her head to the sky and spoke with a hiss to her words, ”now this has to be a nightmare. has to..”, her voice trailed off with the lost of the thought. ginny knew that it was not in fact a nightmare but a girl could dream. shaking her head, she tilted her head back to look, her eyes burning a deep glare and her irises seemed to fog over and darken into a brown as she waited for his answer, her eyes rolling as she heard him speak. ginny would not have had a problem with malfoy if he had not been someone who stuck himself off on a pedestal and thought himself better than anyone else. they shared the common bond of pureblood running through their veins but she had never flaunted that fact like malfoy had. ”well disappear then.” she spoke, once more with her words a little harsher than normal, she finally added with a hiss, ”permanently”. ginny had never felt the need to be rude to someone unless they were rude first, her spitfire personality was always present in her eyes but usually laid dormant. malfoy was one of the few that could cause that side of her to awaken from it’s slumber. a side that involved very little words, and relied more on her skills in a few different hexes. she recollected the thought of the last hex that she had thrown at malfoy. one of her more talented ones that even her brothers feared for when her wand was pointed at them. malfoy had been on the end of the last one that she had performed outside of a classroom, it was all for good reason though. umbridge had been set off her rocker, and was ready to use an illegal charm on harry. thankfully hermione’s quick thinking came into play but the rest of dumbledore’s army had to get away from the snitches in one form or another. the usual smile that was on her face now replaced with a smirk, her eyes rolling once more to his words and she shrugged, ”i don’t need charity. besides, the rich’s job description has been rewritten by your family, did you not get the memo? they are supposed to be prats and tosspots.” she spoke, searching the skies with a sarcastic expression on her face, ”seems your owl never delivered the news. but you do perform the job quite well without the memo”, she turned her head back to him. she could already feel the eyes of the other students and turned her attention to them for a moment, taking in the now averted gazes and sighed. ginny usually felt bad after words of anger and negativity were spoken, she could not even imagine what her mother would think but she imagined that her father would be high fiving her at the moment. the thought graced her lips with a slight frown, she was upset with the company that she was now conversing with but the thought of her parents came to mind. she wondered if they were worrying about her, and then she wondered where they were in these castle halls. her attention was caught as she caught the glimpse of his hand moving into his robes, the grip on her own wand tightening, prepared for a duel if that was what he wanted. she watched him carefully, her eyes following his and trying to watch his hand at the same time. her eyes were burning a hole through his head as she caught the gist of his last words. ginny had really stopped listening to draco but the talk about the muggleborns had resulted in her wand raising, pointed towards him. she saw his hand move, the wand coming more into view and she took a small step forward, lessening the space between them, ”those are big words for a coward such as yourself.” she spoke, her wand now at the ready, she was tired for his constant talk about the difference in their classes and how he was superior to the muggleborns. she took a step back, flicking her wand and using just a little power in her words, as not to injury malfoy too much. ”stupefy!” she shouted, the audience gasping as she red beam emitted from her wand. she flicked her wrist, the spell moving in the direction of the target. ginny recalled the last time she had used this spell against the deatheaters in the department of mysteries. she felt her anger boiling as she yelled out the words without a second thought to her actions or to the consequences of what she was doing. her wand was still poised in her hand, ready for his attack. Draco would never admit it, except perhaps on an offer of getting out of this world, getting to his mother and father and finding somewhere safe to hide out and retain the Malfoy honour, but the exact same words were running through his mind. He had of course already expected this to be a nightmare until he had experienced his first nightmare in this place. Then he had decided that it couldn't possibly be (as a nightmare inside a nightmare was rather strange). A temporary warping of realities was another theory, as was an overlapping of time. Or his most favourite one; this was all some sort of initiation or torture induced comatose reality. The trouble with that theory was that the only way he could see to get out of it would be to take himself out of it by force. He didn't much fancy killing himself.
Her words meant nothing and only gained a sneer from her. Too far above the redheaded family to even dignify that petty little remark with a verbel response, after a moment Draco still had done no more than add the tiniest raise of one of his elegant eyebrows at her. Cool and aloof, sleek and sophisticated. As a Malfoy should be even when faced with a Weasel squeaking irritatingly at him. He'd dealt with the first years in this place, however, so the squeaking was admittedly not that bad. Not as bad as it could have been if, for example, her irritating prat of a brother was here instead. He wasn't here, was he? The only member of the golden snobheads he had seen was Potter, and that was enough for his innocent stomach to be able to muster.
Draco did narrow his eyes though at the accusation of being a coward. It wasn't exactly true. He did start most of the alterations between himself and anyone else, didn't he? Even if he somehow always lost to the Potter prats, he still did. Of course, that was back in the real world, where Vincent and Gregg, his loyal friends, were able to block anything and punch anyone who tried to lay a finger on him. Perhaps that did make him a coward. He did not care. "Better a being a coward than being stupid. Bravery always seems to get people killed. Haven't you people learnt that from Harry's dog." He had to be careful over his words, of course, in this place, but he knew about the demise of Sirius Black. The brave fool who'd broken centuries of tradition. Aunt Bella had spent quite a while gloating over that, while he and his mother had done their best to ignore her and focus on Lucius.
But he was a coward. That much was shown by his widening of his eyes as the jet of red light flew towards him, and the lightening quick reaction which managed to deflect the same spell. Duels were not an occupation that he enjoyed. Not that he couldn't deul, it had been one of the many skills Lucius Malfoy had placed in his son from an early age, but Draco much prefferred employing the more backstabbing methods of fighting. Such as using other people, hiding from a distance...tricks and feints which would keep him safe by endanger others. Unfortunately, no such tactics came to mind when standing in a courtyard facing an enraged red headed girl. So he just went for the offensive instead. "You little wrench...Immobulous!" he spat out, before whirling his wand a second time to quick fire a second, more dangerous spell, "Confringo!"
The anger he felt towards the stupid little child and her downright evil little jinx was amplified as he felt the power of the blasting curse leave him. If only both connected, he couldn't help but think blissfully. Then she would have simply shattered and the world would be free from one more Weasley.

- - -GINNY WAS FULLY , aware of draco’s reputation, he always had his two goons to back him up and hex anyone that dared to speak a word against him. the thought caused her to scoff in his direction, her eyes rolling to his words but catching the last line. she could not believe that him of all people had brought up sirius. her usual chocolate irises darkened to a near black as the anger filled her. ginny had not known sirius as well as harry or ron did but the times that she had met with him, at the order’s headquarters and at christmas and a few other holidays the previous year, he was a good man. he was decent and unfailing in his love and support for harry and that was enough to put sirius in ginny’s good books. shaking her head, the grip on the powerful wand was now turning her knuckles white. she knew people were gathering around them, watching for any flicker of a wrist movement that would start the battle. ”don’t speak of things that you know hardly anything about, besides what your horrid mother and father told you. you weren’t there malfoy.”, her voice was raised and she heard a few gasps from the audience that had gathered but her focus was solely on her dueling partner with wide eyes. the spell left her wand with a red beam and she wrinkled her nose in protest to his deflection of the spell. needless to say, ginny had not been expecting draco to avert the spell and was hoping that he would have been thrown onto his ass. she was ready though, her dueling skills were surprisingly sharp for a fifith year. studying in the room of requirement while all of the students were forced to copy text was a big help to the gryffindor student. she had learned spells that she had no dreamed of learning for another year or two but harry had taught them. her eyes widened as she heard the words coming from his mouth and flicked his wand with a ”protego!” she sighed in relief to watch the spell bounce in another direction. she heard a gasp and turned her head to see a student become frozen in his spot. she was almost overturned with guilt that her focus went to the student, she heard draco’s spell and turned her head just in time to see the spell coming at her. she flicked her wand, trying to rebound the rather gruesome spell but felt a piece of it hit her. her body flew through the air for about ten feet, yelping and wincing as her back slammed into the courtyard undergrowth. she winced slightly as she rose to her feet. part of her could not believe that malfoy had employed such a powerful spell in her direction, shaking her head as she stepped closer, ”expelliarmus” she shouted, hoping to have his wand fly from his hand. ginny considered a spell for a moment, one that she was powerful in and would hopefully end this feud before the two of them got caught. shaking her head, ginny could feel her anger building in her body. she flicked her wand once more and shouted what she hoped to be the last spell, reducto!” and watched as the white beam was emitted from her wand and made a path to draco. however, ginny’s reducto spell was a powerful one and she watched a few students that were too close get knocked back. she felt guilt wash over her and looked to draco, the grip on her wand was not as tight, usually she did not feel any guilt when dueling but there was something about this battle that was hurting her. she figured it was possibly messing up the time zone, or hurting the innocent students that had gathered around them. ”want to keep going malfoy? there is a spell i know you are very familiar with…” she spoke of the spell that had allowed dumbledore’s army to escape. the bogey bat hex. her second most powerful spell, and something that she was more than willing to repeat if it would end the duel. Malfoy's generally were beautiful people, and sneering was more often than not the usual facial expression that they employed, so of course it would look good on him. Or so he told himself. Moving to the side with his wand still pointed at her, steps quiet and elegant; none of the blundering bluster which always seemed to intergrate itself into him whenever confrontations like this occured with Saint Potter; and enough to make the students starting to crowd around them both to hurridly back away. ”don’t speak of things that you know hardly anything about, besides what your horrid mother and father told you. you weren’t there malfoy.” "You have no right to allow words about my family to pass through your cretin lips," he spat, eyes narrowing slightly into flashing grey mirrors relfecting little more than anger, "And I have had a first hand account of the events which took place from the one who put the mangy mutt down in the first place. A story thankfully untainted by the Gryffindor oh so righteous view on the schemes of the world."
It was not a subject he was comfortable with, however. That event was one he had not been aware of until the news came to him about his father's imprisonment, and then back at the manor he had sat and listened to his Aunt danced around the halls, singing out her glee and lavishing him with tales of both her victory and his father's failure. Having something like that, from a woman who was family and yet irritating at the same time, lead almost immediently into his audience with the Dark Lord...those memories were being blocked, in this place. To keep his mind sane from lack of worry more than anything...and he did not appreciate her engaging him in such a conversation (the fact that he had brought it up in the first place completely escaped his notice).
The disarming spell was quickly dispersed by a weakly flung shield charm and, eventually, once that bubble of magic had cracked around him, by Draco throwing himself out of the way. He heard the sound of it connecting with another student, however, the screams behind him and the unmistakable sound of a body flying through the air to only hit one of the stone walls with a dull thump. But it was none of his concern - if people insisted on watching such an event, whatever happened to them was their own fault.
And the girl Weasley was strong. The force of the spell had sent a shiver along his spine as it had sped over him, bringing up the lightly simmering panic into something half way to an off-the-boil mode. Though, he did not get to fully experience just how strong her magic was until he heard the second spell being uttered as he was getting back to his feet. His head jerked up, eyes widdening and hand going for his wand again, but not soon enough to deflect it. The stupid white beam caught him into the chet, pushing him through the air and into a spinning motions until he hit one of the pillars with a crack, sliding down it with little more than a hoarse grunt, eyes watering slightly in shock and pain from his now winded body. "You little wrench..." But it did not stop him firing off another hex, rapidly.
"Tarantallegra, you utter little filthy bitch!" he cried in the time it took to crawl back to his feet for a second time, and gather himself (and hold his stomach, the pain radiating there from his back was not a pleasent sensation. His eyes narrowed at the next reminded...God how he loathed this little bitch. Of course, he hated all Malfoy's...but this one he could not make look like a fool! She had done that to him instead! It was utterly unfair...and he would get his own back on that. "Typical. Resorting back to the same old jinxes. How utterly boringly Gryffindor of you," he said, hair in slightly disarray, but the haughty sneer back on his face. How he wanted to curse her legs off...
But...he was a Slytherin. She could use blunt force, and would...but he was more than aware that the trouble would have caught the attention of staff and that was certainly something he would not want to get caught up in. So he just glared at her, up on his feet once more, and then barely twitched his wand in her direction with a soft murmer of: "Corvis oppungo..."
Attention was drawn from him suddenly, before any authority could arrive, as the air was suddenly full of black birds, with dark glinting eyes and, Draco knew, more than a little lust for flesh. Ravens, conjured by him, and more then content to aim for the littlest Weasley as well as anyone caught in their midsts. And providing enough cover for him to, hopefully, slip away before wither trouble came or the birds fell to dust. Unfortunately, it was not to be...the cry of the cancelling charm from a teacher overode that of the panicking students before he was able to get out of the courtyard.
Still, it was rather worth it.
