Emmelia Jenelle Jammison was wandering around the grounds of Hogwarts. She was holding her mail in one hand as she walked in a daze. Her owl had brought her the a letter this morning...and it didn't look good. Ever since then she put off reading it, until she was completely free. Her jeans brushed the grass gently and she tugged her navy sweater closer to her as the breeze rolled in. It was a beautiful fall day, the sun was shining, but Emmelia was in the worst possible mood. She knew what the letter was about, since it was from her father. She scowled at the thought of the man she called her father, he disgusted her. Beating his eldest daughter because her views were different, forcing her to be a part of the Death Eaters, and a couple of death threats. What kind of father is that?
She sat down underneath a shaded tree by the black lake. As far as possibly from the castle and anyone else who could wander around. She didn't want to be seen when she read the letter. She held the enveloped parchment in her trembling hands and closed her eyes to calm herself a little. Tearing it open she revealed her father's writing and began to read the enclosed. Another threat to kill her if she doesn't accept the Dark Lord's assignment for her. Emmelia read it over a couple of times before placing it down on the grass beside her.
Emmelia was a strong person when she was around those who cared for her. She tried not to show how much it bothered her that her father would be so cruel, how screwed up her family was, how misplaced in the world she felt. Tears welled in her eyes thinking about everything that was crashing down upon her. How would she be able to out run her family once she left Hogwarts? The only thing that was saving her was being here and when she would leave, what would happen? Emmelia had her mind racing and pulled her knees up to her chest wrapping her arms around them as she stared out into the black lake. Not even noticing someone coming closer.

It was one of those days for Sirius Black, the days where he felt alone in the world, no one truly understanding his view on the world. A great sigh crossed his chest as he sat alone in the Gryffindor Common Room. The room was silent, it was never this dead, especially after classes had ended. No matter, the Black boy stood from the red leather couch across from the warm fireplace. There was never a perfect moment in his life that he could recall, being the "misunderstood" son of the pureblooded elitist family of Black. The clock on the wall read fifteen past three, which meant he needed to get out and do something rather than wallow in silence. He rose from the couch, realizing his shoes were not on his feet. Oh Pads, you have completely lost your mind. The boy quickly ran up the stone stairs leading up to the boys dorms. The shoes were nowhere to be found. Things haven't been going his way lately, and a pair of missing shoes was taking the cake. Sirius then remembered that James had borrowed his shoes from the night before, and were seated upon James' bed. Ahh, finally. He tied up the old laces and stood up straight again. His hair was, decent (as much as you could say for him). Sirius had no need to dress up, he didn't have a meeting or anywhere special to be, just a lonely walk seemed perfect. Sirius walked from the portrait hole down to the main staircase. He thought of a few good ideas for pranks to be done on these old, yet magical stairs. Pranking would have to wait, however; a walk needed to clear his clouded mind. His feet carried him down the stone stairs, upon landing at his destination he couldn't help but laugh at the first years (who were close to their common room, when the stairs decided to change on them). He proceeded to walk towards the entrance door, and stopped dead in his tracks. Various giggling and girls chattering caressed his ears. Sirius managed to drop a small wave in there general direction and rolled his eyes as he turned the other direction. Ahh, fresh air. It feels great to be out here. The wind was slight, but perfect. He continued down the path towards the Black Lake, a swim sounded great. Upon his arrival, he noticed a girl hugging her knees looking somewhat upset. Sirius walked up behind her and leaned on the tree directly behind. You know, it's a crime for a pretty girl to be upset.

Emmelia was trapped in her own thoughts, and it seemed like nothing could snap her out of them. Until she heard a voice behind her and she jumped. Startled she looked behind her and breathed a sigh of relief when she knew who it was. Sirius Black. They have known each other for years, since both their families were close to each other. He was the only one who understood her, who knew about her abusive father, and who shared the same views as her as well. She wasn't sure if he knew about her being marked by the Death Eaters, but she knew it would come out eventually.
She wiped the threatening to fall tears away with the back of her sweater and forced a smile on her face. But soon let it fade when she realized how fake it had to be. "I can't pretend everything is okay anymore..." Emmelia choked and turned away from him. She picked up the letter and folded it up, tucking it away in her pocket. Looking out at the lake she sighed again leaning back against the tree once more. She hated this, she hated being like this, feeling like this, and she hated being a pureblood. Her family made her life a living hell and she was sick and tired of it all. It was time for something to change.

Sirius couldn't help but feel bad for her, because he knew exactly what she was going through. Time and time again had the Black family forced their rules upon Sirius. The boy was only five when the pureblooded elites would begin their reign of terror upon his younger brother and himself. It was the worst experience of his life. However, Sirius wanted to protect Regulus from anything, including his family. His family seemed to love Regulus more, once they found out Sirius made Gryffindor and Regulus made the infamous house of Slytherin. Finally, Sirius was able to break the bonds from his family and never return to their "sacred" meetings. That time was over long ago, however the ghosts of his past will never cease to haunt him. Sirius moved his gaze from the sky towards the Slytherin sitting on the ground. He sighed softly, and walked over behind her. You know, you don't have to fight this alone. His voice was calm, as he sat next to her looking over the lake. They had been friends for a long time, he knew her stories and she knew his, there were no secrets about that matter. Sirius put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her in for a hug. I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you. No matter what happens, I'm here for you.

Emmelia had tried multiple time to run away from her home, and somehow her father always found her and drug her back. She needed to fully get away somehow without being detected. She didn't care about leaving items behind, that didn't bother her since she could always buy new clothes and such. It was the fact of the matter that she was always caught and brought back. Over the past couple of years she hadn't tried, but it was time for her to leave completely. The only other problem with that would also be the mark...she didn't know if that left a trace or anything, and if it did then it would all fall through.
"I know I don't." Emmelia looked over at him and smiled at his last comment. She could always count on him for support and she held onto that also. She always had a thing for Sirius ever since she was little, and those feelings have grown since they became closer through Hogwarts. She didn't know if he felt the same way, but she could only wish the feelings were mutual. "Thank you, Sirius." She added.
Emmelia turned to face him completely and said, "They marked me over the summer. Forced me to become one of them..." She wondered how he would take the news.

It had been a long time since someone in his family, anyone for that matter, was consumed by the Dark Arts. Never had he encountered the Mark before, but he was bound to at some point. Sirius knew exactly how Emmelia was feeling, he too was forced to be a pureblood elite. It was never in his blood to be an elite, especially for a trivial cause such as this. No matter, the House of Black was very strict on their rules in being pure. For as long as he could remember, his dreadful family had placed various restrictions from who he could interact with to which house he had to be sorted into. The day he was named a Gryffindor, his world began to change. Never had he thought he would gain such amazing friends here at Hogwarts, including a not stereotypical Slytherin. He stopped his gaze from the sky and moved his grey eyes at Emmelia. Never doubt that I wont be there for you. He smiled at her, hoping to somehow get her out of this sad or depressed mood. There had to be something to change her mood...something. Once Emmelia mentioned that she had been marked, Sirius' eyes widened, for he was not completely sure how to react. Could the Mark be tracking her movements? He had little knowledge of what actually happens at these meetings with the Dark Lord. Sirius frowned a little, and gave her a tight hug. You know, this doesn't change anything between us. If anything were to change, it would be the fact that Sirius would want to protect her even more. Sirius looked into Emmelia's eyes and he smiled a little. Emmelia, would it be totally weird if I asked to see the Mark?

It was rare for Emmelia to be in such a slump, and frankly she hated the days that it happened also. It wasn't in her personality to be down and in the dumps, she was always a happy and peppy person. That's what attracted so many people to her, her bubbly attitude on things, and the fact that her opinions were strong. If one of her friends caught her in any other mood besides happy they would think the world was coming to an end. But realistically everything was so built up within her and she was just pushing all her problems back that it just exploded and was pouring out today.
"How could I ever doubt that?" Emmelia whispered looking back into his soft and welcoming grey eyes. Ones that she fell into many times before. She wondered if Sirius would ever go through having to be marked by the Death Eaters. It frightened her to have it branded on her arm. The fact that they could be tracking her at any moment, know what she is saying, what she may be thinking. She had no idea what they could be plotting against her, if they really could hear her thoughts and know where she is. She noticed the look in Sirius eyes and looked back at the lake.
Emmelia didn't know what his reaction would be, but she didn't want to be pushed away. She was relieved to hear that everything between them was the same regardless. "I never wanted it, my father forced it upon me, and they gave me my first mission too. It makes me sick." She grimaced and shook her head. She really needed to get out of all this mess she was in. His next statement shocked her a little bit and she just stared at him for a couple minutes, frozen, afraid to move.
Emmelia finally rolled up her sleeve that bared the bold black mark on her forearm. She watched Sirius intently not sure what was going to happen next.

Sirius could not honestly believe what he was hearing. It was like he was reliving his childhood once again. The agonizing childhood. Granted, it all wasn't bad. The problem with his childhood was the fact that his parents never felt responsible for any of their actions, they blames everything that went bad against Sirius and his brother. Who else would the so called "perfect" elites blame their downfalls upon? It just didn't make sense to him that his parents would torture the boys for failed mission in the Dark Arts. He shook his head to get the memories out from his head as he drew his attention back towards Emmelia. I honestly could not imagine what you are going through/ It was true, he had no clue what her parents were doing to her, let alone making her do. He sighed, and was rather upset from what he was hearing. Once she admitted that she could be receiving orders to plot against anyone, or worst of all kill someone. He knew it was not in her nature to follow these orders, but what choice did she really have? They would probably kill her for not following the directions. Sirius looked at Emmelia with a saddened expression upon his face. I trust you. The words sort of fell from his lips, for he had no idea what else he could say. He wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her closely against him. There was nothing else he wanted in the world than to have her safe from any harm. I know you will be away receiving orders, but I want to protect you as much as I can.

Emmelia wondered what it would be like if she would be born to a different family. To have someone who loved and cared for her unconditionally. To have a protective father that would never harm her, or let harm come to her. To have the best siblings she could ever ask for. The thoughts would wash away though, she wouldn't be so close to those she was with now. She wouldn't have such a hatred toward the Dark Arts or toward the Death Eaters. What kicked her down and attempted to kill her would only make her stronger. She wouldn't wish what she was going through upon anybody. Luckily she was strong enough to push herself through it and not break into them.
Emmelia held up her father's letter, allowing Sirius the option to take it and read it. "This is the second death threat from my father." She sighed deeply and shook her head. "I can't go back over Christmas...who knows what they'll do to me if I go back." She muttered. The sun was sinking below the lake and Emmelia watched in the comfort of Sirius arms. No matter what happened she knew he would always have her back, would always be by her side to help in whichever way he possibly could. Knowing she had such a great person with her through this made her feel better. Made her that much stronger to get through it. "This whole thing is such a bloody mess. It's ridiculous." She grumbled lowly.
There was something about him that made her feel like the world couldn't touch her. That he would always protect her, never let anything harm her. He was everything she wanted. "I won't abide by anything they tell me to." She told him. "I'm trying to find some way to get rid of the mark, I found a charm to cover it, but I need to get rid of it somehow." She relaxed a little and closed her eyes for a couple of minutes, allowing the silence to wash over them. Even if they just stayed in silence it was like she understood what he was saying regardless. "I wish you didn't have to protect me, Sirius..." She whispered finally. "But I really need you right now more than ever...I'm scared..."

Sirius was never able to remember a time where he was not protective over someone else. The eldest of the Black family had always been there for his younger brother, yet Regulus never returned the favor. It wasn't uncommon for Sirius to get in the middle of a fight where Regulus was getting his ass beaten. Often Regulus would not return home from reasons unknown, but the older brother would always find his younger brother somewhere. This was no different from then. Emmelia was facing a hardship which she could not defeat single handed. the Death Eaters had already made the first move, it was now time for Sirius to launch a counterstrike, however that was the least of his worries right now. the top of his list was her safety, that's all he will care about from now until the end (if it ever gets that far).
Christmas was approaching soon, this was his first move. I can get you a place to stay. James Potter's family is where I will be staying for the holiday, I'm sure we can find you a spare room.
He knew this house would be a safe place for her to lie low for awhile. He began to think of the great time they would have together once in the safety of the Potter's home in Godric's Hollow. It was surely a holiday to remember, that was set into stone. Sirius smiled at the thought and quickly kissed Emmelia on the top of her head. Sirius could feel the tension him Emmelia's voice. He continued to hold her closely towards him, keeping her as safe as he possibly could. It felt amazing to be seated at her side, and he hoped it would be like this for quite awhile. He had never felt like this around a girl before, never had he truly connected with someone he was dating. Dating was merely a quick fling and it was done with. I will always be there to protect you, I promise. Words: 355 Wearing:Click![/blockquote][/blockquote]

Sirius really was one of her best friends, and she always had a thing for him from the get go. He was charming, went against his blood line, was a prankster, and wild. He never kept her bored for long, that was for sure. She hoped that their relationship would last longer than the past girls that he dated. It would crush her if he just up and left like he did to the others. Then again who knew where things would land with them. She listened to him talk about staying at James' place over the break. "If James doesn't mind then I will gladly take the offer." She smiled and completely relaxed when he kissed her forehead.
Emmelia had never felt so safe before, with any guy she had ever been with. Sirius made her feel like nothing could touch her, or harm her in anyway. For once in her life she felt secure with somebody, and she didn't want to let this feeling go. Her face was close to his and she looked into his eyes. It was as if the world stopped for her and she smirked answering to his last comment, "I'll hold you to that, Sirius Black." After that she just held his gaze and let go of everything that just happened.
Her family was in the past, being a "Death Eater" was in the past, and nothing else mattered except her being with Sirius now. She wanted to kiss him, to just forget about everything, to lose herself in him. What she was feeling was so unlike anything she experienced before. She felt wanted. She closed her eyes and leaned her forehead against his and sighed lightly.

There was never a time where Sirius refused to help anyone; and this wasn’t going to be an exception. The Death Eaters were strong and getting stronger by the minute. He was the only one in his deranged family to even give the slightest help to someone who wasn’t sorted into the “great house of Slytherin”. It all didn’t matter anymore. The moment Gryffindor was called from the sorting hat six years ago, the family he hated from the moment he met them, disowned him. Sirius looked from the calming waters of the lake down at Emmelia again. Never should anyone have to deal with the pain of family matters, not like what Sirius had been through. Nevertheless, Sirius had to keep Emmelia safe; if it was the last thing he could do.
His gray eyes looked at the sky, it was peaceful. This isn’t fair to you.
Sirius would never be able to understand what Emmelia had been through. Especially to be marked with the stain of the Dark Mark upon her wrist. She was one of them. Although she rejects everything they stand for, he still couldn’t help but think about the current situation. Never could he see a family filled with hatred to where they force their own children into the Dark Army of He Who Must Not Be Named. Sirius sighed and felt his back fall against the bottom of the tree. Thinking too much about this was making his mind go crazy and he began to feel the toll upon his body. The situation was not going to change, no matter what Sirius could do about it. I’m sorry all of this happened He felt as if he was repeating the same phrases over and over again, but there was nothing else that came to mind. Words: 305 Comments: Blah, bad post. Emmelia had always wondered what it would be like to completely rid of her family. It would be a great accomplishment on her end. She would finally be free of them all, have nothing to worry about, not have to look over her shoulder every second to see if she's followed. A huge weight would be lifted off of her shoulders and it would be glorious. With a sigh she looked over at Sirius who was laying down at that point. Leaning over him she smiled and said, "Life isn't fair, Sirius Black. We both know this." She looked out onto the lake and added, "Besides everything happens for a reason, you know. Eventually, everything should sort out."
She stood up and walked a little closer to the water's edge starring at the sun glowing onto the black lake. It made everything so beautiful out here, so why was she sulking? She was tired of being down about everything, and decided to just push it all aside. She turned around to face Sirius and smirked. "Race you to the pitch!" With that she was off in a sprint toward the Quidditch Pitch. Not even bothering to look back and see where Sirius was at. Spontaneous was her middle name and she was not about to be drug down by her parents again. It was time to have fun while she could, and she could sort the rest out later.
Emmelia made it to the Quidditch Pitch about five minutes after the start of the race. She laid down in the middle and closed her eyes allowing her breathing to catch up to her. It felt good to just run every once in a while, it made her worried just go away every once in a while. She smiled slightly wondering where Sirius went, but she didn't bother to open her eyes to see either. She was half tempted to yell for him but was too out of breath to do so either. Instead she just laid there and relaxed for a little while. Her freedom was coming closer than she could have expected.

Sirius could not help but feel the anger fuel up inside him, the no good Death Eaters were trying everything they could to destroy Emmelia's beliefs and values. It was true, there was honestly nothing Sirius could do to stop them; as of right now. Sirius alone would make the Dark Lord laugh and mock him for even trying to defeat him, then he would probably kill him in the process. A sigh crossed the boy's lips and he looked at Emmelia again. Once she spoke of life no being fair, he couldnt help but nod in agreement. Yes, my dear. It very well isn't fair.
He smirked at everything happens for a reason. Oh sure, his family disowning him for not believing in their values; that could have ended even worse. Sirius had always followed his family's values until he finally left for Hogwarts, then all hell broke lose. Never again will Sirius return to the House of Black at Grimmauld Place. However, since he had been banished from his home, he has met several friends and a new girl, whom he had been falling for since childhood. Sirius smiled at Emmelia and kissed her forehead. Meeting you has been one of the greatest things to have ever happened to me Moments passed until Emmelia broke the silence to challenge Sirius to a race to the pitch. She dashed off ahead of him and he began to smile evilly. He let her get a good lead against him then, CRACK!. Sirius had apparated to the pitch, beating Emmelia there. He then hid behind the stands, waiting for her arrival to the pitch. A few minutes passed until she arrived there after him. I win He stuck his tongue out at her and began to laugh. There was no rule of using magic to win the race, even if there was, he would have broken the rules to win. Sirius walked over and laid down beside her. Emmelia, there is something I have been wanting to ask you for a while now. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath before mentioning anything. Would you be my date for the Halloween Masquerade? Words: 375 Comments: x3 Wearing:Click![/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Emmelia practically melted at Sirius' touch. He always knew how to make her feel like she was the only girl in the world. The only person that matters and it seems as if he doesn't even have to try either. She blushed as he kissed her forehead and spoke, he was so good to her. "I don't know what I would do without you." She answered. Their views were the same, they both didn't like their families, and it seemed that everything was falling into place with them. It was perfect.
Well, almost perfect anyways, as long as he didn't find out about Regulus. Emmelia had been seeing him since before Sirius and her started dating, and she didn't know which one she would choose. If there was a time where she had to choose between them she didn't know if she could. She was torn between the Black brothers, and it wasn't something she was too proud of either. Especially if either of them found out about each other...all hell would break loose.
Emmelia stuck her tongue out at Sirius and said, "You, sir, are a cheater. I sprinted here and you apparated. That is not a fair race." She smiled over at him as he laid down next to her. She looked over at him as he asked her to the Halloween Masquerade. She smiled and rolled onto her stomach so that she was leaning over him. She kissed him gently and said, "I would love to be your date, Sirius." She couldn't be more happy than where she was right now.
