James loved Hogwarts he couldn't believe this would be his last year at the school. Maybe he'd fail so he didn't have to grow up. That was the basic brain fight that was going on at the moment. He didn't want to return to London to find a job at the ministry and find a place for himself. What was he really going to have after school? With Lily and Snape hanging out, he was going to return empty handed. Maybe he could give up? NAH. James never gave up at all. He as much as any other student didn't want to leave his precious Hogwarts. He continued from the towers making his way down to the grounds. He didn't want to stay inside all day, he needed adventure or just some fresh air. Brushing his hand through his hair and straightening his hand down the front of his robes removing any kind of lint or cat hair that might have attached to the front of him. He shook his head once more, adjusting the glasses as he smiled at the fat lady upon shutting her portrait. "Afternoon." he stated smiling a tad bit at her, with that oh so cunning smile.
He made his way down the many staircases of Hogwarts and made sure to get to the right staircase before it started changing on him. That was very annoying to a person who needed to get somewhere fast. Finally James reached the front doors sitting down on the stairs for a second to make sure his shoe didn't come off like it had on his way out. Crazy shoe had a mind of it's own today. Finally he made his way down to the bridge. He usually came here to start thinking. James needed to find away to get Lily, he couldn't let some greasey haired git take her home, and marry her. That would kill James instantly. But what about that girl he'd met at the pitch, she was pretty. James liked pretty girls, it must have been a Potter trait. His mother was unusally pretty for being an older witch.. or so his father told him a million times a day. It really got James goat sometimes. He couldn't understand what that girl saw in him. Maybe it was the fact he was a Slytherin. He was a brown nosing little git, who needed to be taught a lesson, and James would gladly do it.
But he stopped and walked over towards the over look of the bridge staring down into the misty valley, It was earlier before the sun would hit it's high spot. It was beautiful in the morning. James just opted not to be in the castle this morning. He kind of liked having this time to think, when he wasn't in class. He used the edge of his wand to itch the back of his neck. It was really a pickle he was in. How did you attract a girl the right way, he seemed to be doing it wrong with her. But Lily wasn't just any girl. The look instantly changing on his face as he smiled into the morning mist. The look of love crossed his face, it was just that proud look James got when he saw someone he was simply attracted too. Lily was a fresh breath of air in his life. How could he not get her and marry her. He just obviously did things wrong. That frustrated him so very much. Pacing the bridge lightly, he worked on walking back and forth trying different scenerios out in his head. Maybe he just didn't understand her enough to try to win her over.. Poor James.
Hearing footsteps off in the distance, he drew his wand and held it at the ready. "Whose there?" he questioned in a rather curious, yet nervous tone. With all these new people showing up, James was put on edge.

Emmelia Jenelle Jammison was sitting in the Slytherin Common Room. There was a lot on her mind and she just couldn't pay attention to her homework for potions later that day. She sighed heavily and closed her book running a hand through her curled brunette hair. She looked up the staircase to the boys dormitory and instantly felt a twinge of guilt and sadness. Ever since Hogsmeade Regulus and her have never been the same. She threw a lot at him and he hurt her deeply as well. There was so much going on between them, and since she chose Sirius over him...they will never be able to talk to each other again.
She got up off the couch zipping up her dark gray jacket that she was wearing and decided to jog. She ran through the castle, her jeans swishing as they past each other, but she didn't mind. Running always made her feel better, it helped her to think, and to clear her head. She made the right choice she was sure of it, but she couldn't help but feel so sad about it. She was depressed upon losing one of her best childhood friends. It was an awful feeling to see someone that she cared so deeply about just completely hate her. Tears welled up in her eyes but she bit them back and ran harder.
She came upon the bridge and stopped before entering it taking in a deep breath, pulling the hood up over her head, and shoving her hands in her pockets. A familiar voice came from further within as she began to walk across it. A smile crept upon her face as she neared the person, none other than one of her good friends, and Sirius' best mate, James Potter. "Good morning, James. I haven't seen you in a while." Emmelia put her hood down with a smile as she walked toward him. Leaning against one of the posts of the bridge looking at him. It was good to see him again, she confided in him for almost everything and anything, and she was sure Sirius' had told him a lot about what was going on between them as well.
So many people pinned James and his friends as useless, little children, who needed to grow up. They had fun and did what they had to do to stay sane around this place. In fact Emmelia had been there to help them a couple times in their little pranks they pulled. They were a fun bunch and she really cared about each and every one of them. And now that Sirius and her were an item, it only made her that much closer to them as well.

James knew his best friend had a new girlfriend. The boy was smoozing the mirror every morning making sure he was ruffled enough to look good. James didn't see him do this very much, unless he had a hot date. Sirius was a good looking guy, girls were falling all over his feet constantly. But this girl James was a little wreary about. She was a Slytherin. James didn't like Slytherins, and he didn't trust any of them further then he could hex them. But he could give her a chance.. for the sake of his friend. James was certainly able enough to make sure that this girl didn't mess with him. He wouldn't want his friend to fall for someone that in the end turned out to hurt him. But he scratched his head as he continued to stare out in the mist of the valley. It was like a refresher for his mind. He just had so much flying through it, it was like a morning shower to the inside of it. But with the fact someone was up at the same time he was, and out on the grounds. It made him a little nerve racked wondering how quick his draw would be if there was a hex from a poor student that happened to be James target from the night before.
His eyes glanced for a moment at the approaching girl. It was that Slytherin that was dating Sirius. He gave her a rather James like smile, and turned to give his full attention to her. Might as well right, there was no one else out here at the moment. He lowered his wand a bit, keeping it still firmly in his hand. "ello' Em, How are you doing this morning?" he asked turning to face the girl instead of looking away from her. You couldn't turn your back on anyone, someone could be friendly, and then turn out to murder you while you weren't even paying attention. "Been busy." he said shaking his head. He just kind of disappeared into his own world lately. It wasn't like he was busy with studies. James didn't 'study' he learned by listening and watching other people. He wasn't book smart. No way, he was not a book nerd. James hated to say that he could distrust this girl. He talked to her alot, he didn't know to many girls who would give him advice on a subject that would probably drive someone else pretty batty.
But Lily Evans was his subject of interest. She was almost as big of a mystery as his learning to be his animagus formed self. The same struggle when he kept growing the wrong parts of the animal in the wrong parts of his body. Antlers growing out of his ares, and a tail wagging in the middle of his face.. He could be a little backwards at times. James might have showed the world he was useless in classes, and in the hallways. But he was good in the things he really wanted to be good in. He just tended to do that on his own terms, and when he wanted too. He glanced back at her, "So any news from the Slytherin camp?" he asked eyeing the girl for a moment, and leaning against the beam of the bridge with a rather strong arm, as he moved to push his glasses up his nose. "That greasey git?" he muttered under his breath.. "Are the rumors true?" he muttered curiously. He needed to know, he didn't know if she was friends with him, but James needed to know what he was up against.. "What does he have that I don't?" he questioned pushing himself up away from the edge and shaking his head at her. "I just don't bloody understand." he grumbled. Lily Evans was a very sensitive subject, so was dating. Unless James had someone he was seeing, then he was fine talking about that.. "How are you and Pad--, Sirius doing?" he asked catching himself with the nickname. He wasn't completely sure he wanted to give his alias out just yet. Maybe he told her, but James wasn't completely sure. "Still tolerating his barking and sniffing?" he asked laughing at the joke that currently crawled through his head.

Emmelia had watched over the years as the boy of her dreams went from one girl to the next. Asking her for girl advice, wondering how he could get to this one, and go onto snogging all over the next. It disgusted her really, but she sunk lower by dating his brother then going onto him. She never thought Sirius would actually show interest and when he did she about died from joy. Then the shit hit the fan and everything went wrong, but she somehow still had him. That much she was still thankful for, she didn't lose the man she thought she could possibly marry someday. Marriage was a huge commitment, but perhaps Sirius had changed enough to go through it.
"Eh, alright, it's the morning." Emmelia had answered him with a slight smile. She knew that he didn't trust her too much, she was a Slytherin after all. Little did he know how much shit she's gone through with her family, how much she hated being placed into what she was. How she wished her family was different, that she could love and trust them, but she couldn't. "I figured you've been busy. You lot are always busy doing something or another." She chuckled a little and stood beside him looking out into the mist. It was quite peaceful out here in the morning, when the sun hit the valley just perfectly and all the mist swirled.
At first Emmelia thought that he was talking about the Death Eaters forming like wildfire down in the dungeons. It was actually scaring her. She didn't know what to do, but she had to tell Sirius and Alice soon. Lily would go running to Dumbeldore and what was he going to do? Emmelia sighed, she didn't want to be the one to break James' heart, but she was an honest person. She knew how mad James was for Lily, how much he wanted her, but she just couldn't get past his past. He was different when he wasn't making himself look like a fool with his friends...even though Emmelia enjoyed it. "I'm sorry, James, but from what I've heard they are..." She frowned a little but then added, "But at the dance she seemed to tell him off, there was definitely something going on and he hurt her."
Emmelia looked over at James, was he serious? "James Potter, stop. Out of any man in that castle any girl should be lucky to even be seen with you." Here she went boosting his ego. "I honestly wish I knew why Lily dislikes you. I mean you're good looking, you're smart, hilariously funny. You're an all around good person who likes to pull pranks for humor." She chuckled a little and shook her head. "If you tell Sirius how much I complimented you I will never speak to you again. But realistically she should be lucky to have you. And now that Snape screwed up a little you have an open window."
She enjoyed talking to James, even though he didn't trust her, it was obvious he didn't. For some reason she just got that vibe off of him, but perhaps in due time he would warm up to her. "I'll gladly tolerate it." Emmelia laughed at his comment, she wondered if she should tell him about what she did. At least she would be telling him instead of Sirius and would be able to explain herself. "We're doing better." To make it seem like they had some sort of issues. She bit her bottom lip slightly, but didn't say anything else. She was nervous, no one made her nervous, and for some reason this subject and James Potter was making her extremely uneasy.

James wasn't the type to mope around. He was a good looking boy, but Lily Evans claimed to have broken his heart a million times. Even though they weren't together. It was really a low blow when she was seeking comfort from a Slytherin of all people. James scoffed at all these thoughts coming through his head. He allowed his hand to ball into a fist and lightly whack the wood with the balled fist. But finally Emma had said something to him, "Of course, I hate mornings." he grumbled in a rather uneased tone. It was the worst part of the day, it meant he had to sit through lectures, he really wanted nothing to do with. But his eyes moved to join hers for the moment being. It wasn't that he didn't like her, she seemed.. 'nice' in a way. But James couldn't surcome to the fact this girl could cause many problems. Thing he really didn't even want to begin wondering about. "Busy is good, being bored is pretty nasty." he said shaking his head. It was like stubbing your toe. The throbbing annoyingness was more then he could ever handle.
He was silent for a few minutes taking everything in. James hadn't even been aware of anything going on in the dungeons. He really avoided that area as much as possible, unless he was sneaking around to make a fool of Severus. Although he just gritted his teeth at the girl, as she decided to give it to him straight. He'd rather move all the extra bullshit out of the way, and get the through. All the crappy bullshit just happened to be stuff you had to endure. "So are they just snogging.. or something more?" he asked shivering at those thoughts. "And a Slytherin of all people. That grease git. Bloody Hell." he announced without realizing who he was in the prescence of. "Pardon." he muttered back at her. But the moment she said he'd hurt her, James wand came thrusting in the air as if he was daggering it for death. "WHAT DID HE DO TO HER? I'LL KILL HIM" he basically shouted at her wanting more information. James wouldn't let anyone hurt Lily. They might not have been a couple, but he cared more then one should for the girl.
But his eyes instantly went into a glared state, as he just gave that girl a rather mean meloncholy typed glare. Crossing his arms, and his wand still firmly clutched in his hand with white knuckles. "I don't want just any girl." he snorted back in retort. Although he turned his face away from her. Man so many qizards could use this as an advantage to get the boys vulnerability to show. The worst move he could do at the moment. "Everyone's got to have a hobby." he muttered under his breath. What kind of hobby did Lily have besides chasing greasey haired Slytherins. "I don't plan on it." he stated hissing the breath he held, between his teeth. The boy could have a temper at times. Why would he tell his friend that, he wasn't even in that market to steal his mates snogbuddy. Even if he didn't agree with everything. It was nice though, he had to admit, having someone to talk too.. well James didn't ask for advice from anyone outside his friend circle, so this was a big step for him. "Window?" he asked thinking to himself about how he would even begin to use this to his advantage.
"Good, I don't want to see him crying into his potions book now." he stated giving his body a rest from being so tense, and allowing his brow to raise its self in a look of wonder. "He's quite the dog you know." he stated glancing back over the railings again, and leaning on his elbows against the railing. James stuck up for Sirius, he was like a brother he never had, and with him living with them.. Well he took that as more blood then just a brother from another mother type situation. He'd give his life for his best friend, and would never think twice about it. But his eyes scanned the girls face for a moment. "What?" he asked noticing that she might as well just bite her lip off from her look.

"Well, they've known each other for quite some time, and it just seems that more than a friendship is developing between them." Emmelia told James, she wasn't going to sugar coat the situation. That wouldn't be fair to just tell him everything was going to work out between them, when in reality it was going to be a long work in progress. She winced a little at the sound of being a Slytherin of all people and looked down into the valley. "It's alright, I'm used to the stereotype." Even though it realistically stung to be stuck with that stereotype. She hated it, everyone looking at you and automatically judging because of the house she was in, but she learned to accept it in some sort. "Well, he went to the ball with that Abbott girl from Hufflepuff when she poured her heart out to him nights before. She thought that they had something, but he proved her wrong...the fight was not pretty. Lily has a side I did not know she had, needless to say." Emmelia told him.
Em sighed lightly at the look he was giving her, she knew that look. It was how she felt when she referred to Sirius. "I know you don't, James. I honestly hope she will come around eventually." She wished him all the best. It was going to be a rough road for him to go through. Lily wasn't going to be an easy target, but the thing was they balanced each other out perfectly. They were so perfect for each other she didn't think that either of them really realized it. Emmelia looked out and watched the sun slice through the fog. It was truly a beautiful site to look at in the morning. "I mean swoop her off her feat, she's vulnerable right now, she needs someone there that cares. And who better to surprise her, than yourself."
Emmelia chuckled a little at his dog comments. There was definitely something that she didn't know about Sirius, but perhaps she would know in time. That is, if they lasted. She was curious to see if he really was going to get serious with her. She needed to know. Who better to ask than his best friend? "It's just..." She paused and frowned a little at the thought. "I mean, am I different than any other girl that he's 'dated'? Like I don't know if I'm just his latest fling he wants...he told me he loved me you know." She shook her head. "I just want to know if he's being serious about it." If they were going to have a heart to heart, then she was going to pour herself into it as well. "I've known him since we were little, I've always loved him, and it killed me to see him with all these other girls." She sighed stopping herself, she wasn't going to go any further.

James stood there in silence for a few minutes allowing the words this girl was saying to him sink in. Obviously they knew each other really well. They were hanging around each other. The boy of them in a way were like house outcasts. It was hard to see her without him getting somewhere into the equation, and yet he treated her like crap. "Obviously." he muttered shaking his head, he was tired of hearing about snivvy with the lily dish rumors. It took over both great hall, common room, and corridors. He shook his head once more at the girl, his large hazel eyes lightly opening and closing as he realized that he kind of insulted his best mates girl too. "I wasn't really trying to say you were bad." he stated almost dryly. James wasn't one to apologize, he was the bully in many circumstances, and a very good one at that, he just wasn't good with many things.. apologies being one of them. "Obviously, you've got to be an alright dish, if your dating Sirius." he said mustering a bit of a smile. But this whole situation had him downtrodden just a tad bit. "Hannah? That new transfer girl?" he asked hearing her refer to the Hufflepuff, that was the girl he'd seen out on the pitch, the one claiming she could beat him in quidditch. He'd even scoffed at the thoughts of her words from that night, and glanced back at Emmelia.
"Who could love something as completely disgusting as that?" he asked piping up. James was very opinionated. You'd be very certain you'd have grease stains from even attempting to get that close to him. He was outraged, not to that Hannah girl, but for the fact if he did get with Lily he'd be following that up. "What do you mean side?" he asked intrigued. Something about Lily he wasn't well aware of? He was certain, he thought he knew everything, but he didn't mind asking to be enlightened. Maybe this girl would prove worthy in the long run. "Yea, maybe when mermaids fly." he snorted yet again. "I doubt i have a hells chance, with Snivvy the greasey git running around." he grumbled and rolled his eyes. "Swoop her off her feet, as in take her for a broom ride?" he asked thinking thats what she meant. James mind was always on quidditch, or flying.. typical guy. "How do you do that?" he asked curiously. James wasn't to good on dates, normally he ended up blowing most of the dates he went on.. he wasn't experienced enough to woo a girl into much other then a snog after hogsmeade.
Where she was going with this whole situation had him very much out of tune with her talking, and intune with the thoughts racing through his head. Maybe he could like her, and then be her 'shoulder to cry on'. Maybe she'd fall for the sensitive James. Maybe he'd have to figure out, if he was sensitive first.. that was a trial and a half. He wasn't a bad guy, just a little bad on approach. He was certain it could work out, if he absolutely had too, James could pull it off. But her thoughts had him pulled from his own, and his dark brows furrowed together, as she started a sentence, he knew could lead to trouble. "What?" he asked staring back at her for a moment. He was a little curious on to why this suddenly turned on about Sirius, then he realized who he was talking too. Sirius was the Gryffindor playboy as many would suggest, he was a good looking wizard. But it struck him as odd, when she mentioned he claimed he loved her.. already. Hold on a minute, Sirius actually admitting to love. That was a far cry from crazy. It almost made James bark out in laughter. "Really.. was he drinking firewhiskey at the time?" he questioned the girl, unsure if he should laugh, or wonder if his friend had gone wonky. Maybe he'd finally taken a trip to planet whackadoo. "I've never heard Sirius say anything about love before." he stated curiously, and unsure of how he should even put that.
The Black family made it very hard to even know the meaning of the word LOVE. "Well I know how that feels." he stated rolling his eyes as she mentioned she knew how it felt to see him with other girls, very similar to seeing Lily with other guys... especially slytherin guys who called her a mudblood. "I'm not sure exactly." he cleared his throat. "Love, I've never heard once from him, if he wasn't talking about us." he stated kinda pointing in a circle basically outlining the missing Mauraders. "When did he say this?" he asked inquiring it a little further.

Emmelia couldn't help but chuckle at his almost apology about Slytherins, she could really care less. The stereotype was mostly dead on and sometimes it even applied to her. "Honestly, I'm used to it. I understand that everyone in my house gives me a bad name." She smiled at him. Her house had such a bad reputation, it irked her really, but what could she do about it. "Not all Slytherins are bad, James. Especially the one that is dating your best mate." She chuckled and shook her head. The Abbott girl did seem to have some issue with Sirius, she watched how she looked at him and it was not pretty. "Yeah, the new transfer girl...which is really odd now that I think about it." Something was off but she couldn't put her finger on it.
Severus was not nice, not at all. He was rude and pompous and thought he was better than everyone else, typical Slytherin git. Emmelia could not help but wonder how Lily fell for him. "Lily went completely off on him. She was so angry I swear the whole place was going to burn down...she has a temper when someone screws her over that is for sure." She told him, remembering the whole scene quite clearly. It was almost unnerving how it all went down, to see Lily in such a state. Emmelia laughed at his comment about taking her for a broom ride. "James, I don't think she is into the whole flying thing. What I meant was show her that you have a soft side." She told him and looked at him a little more seriously. She knew somewhere deep down James had a soft side to him.
Emmelia's stomach was in knots, perhaps telling James this wasn't such a great idea. "No, he was completely sober." She told him. "I didn't think that he even knew what the word even meant." She sighed lightly and looked down at the valley below, the fog starting to clear up ever so slightly. There was something about Sirius that she knew she was different. Or at least she wanted to believe that.
"It's the worst feeling in the world..." She whispered glancing over at him. "Looks like we have something in common." She shook her head, and wished he didn't have to go through it. It was bad enough when she watched Sirius hook up with all these girls, and she could just sit there and act like everything was alright. James had to see Lily walking around with a genuine Slytherin asshole. "We were talking one night and well...it just came out. It wasn't too long ago." She bit her bottom lip lightly, a little nervous.
